Program Manager – Brampton, Ontario

SUMMARY

Responsible for management of Inventory, Procurement and Distribution of chemicals for a Chemical Management program located on-site at our OEM customer location - Chrysler Brampton Assembly Plant. Engage in customer lean manufacturing initiatives. Manage Tier II suppliers while providing the customer with a world class chemical management program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the Chemical Management Program.
  • Oversee/manage technicians ensuring correct chemicals/amounts used throughout facility
  • Manage Tier II supplier representatives, (water treatment, solvent Lubrication etc.).
  • Responsible for product ordering, tracking, reporting, billing, and end of month closing.
  • Oversee shipments ensuring on-time delivery of products/meeting daily demands including working through lead times and changing production environments.
  • Ensure proper inventory cycles levels as maintained by the technician onsite.
  • Evaluate chemical usage to optimize inventory and ordering requirements.
  • Interact closely with customer staff in manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, safety, environmental departments and plant leadership
  • Acts as liaison between the plant and corporate office to resolve perceived customer problems.
  • Ensure all materials entering the facility are customer approved
  • Oversee site technician assisting him/her to perform efficiently/provide excellent service.
  • Provide team leadership for all direct/indirect reports.
  • Ensures all aspects of the SOW for that plant are met.
  • Responsible for SCORE Card performance, and holding Tier II suppliers to their requirements.
  • Handle monthly and quarterly meetings with plant, and chemical management personnel.
  • Oversee and tracks all projects and reports against productivity improvement requirements.
  • Share projects and improvements with other facilities to insure all sites can utilize processes that benefit the respective plants.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 5 years chemical management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in contract construction, negotiation, and application.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk within very large industrial environments.
  • Ability to use computers/peripherals to create spreadsheets/documents/graphs/compose reports and presentations.
  • Occasional travel possibly required.
