Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in /as a technical architect
  • Expert in designing and building application technical architectures, particularly HA Windows and Unix environments
  • Expert in IT products and tools evaluation and selection
  • Experience in data centre build-outs
  • Experience in planning and executing application migrations from one physical data centre site to another data centre
  • Expert in technical architect methodologies such as Zachman
  • Experience working with Provincial Government
  • Experience as liaison with business IT stakeholders and provide technical leadership
  • Able to maintain systems management, develop tactical and strategic plans to (i.e. service levels, problem, change, recovery, performance and capacity management) controls in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment
  • Design network to ensure optimum resource utilization
  • Translate customer requirements into an integrated network solution strategy and architecture
  • Perform, direct and manage the technical and business activities to provide a network solution to meet customer requirements
  • Evaluate and select technologies and develop networking strategies for the business
  • Translate competitive activities, industry trends, directions and technologies into profitable network solutions
  • Regular interface with vendor engineering to resolve network problems and issues
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Deliverables:

  • Collaborate with all technology and application partners to ensure migration meets Client standards and the requirements of the project
  • Lead knowledge transfer and IT technical support with the project team, migration team and business units
  • To be an authority within the product portfolio responsible for the technical specification of projects and choice of technology including the development, integration, testing, infrastructure used and ongoing operational maintenance
  • To interpret product and project requirements and translate these into solutions that can be implemented by the development teams
  • To promote the re-use of code, components, and systems in order to ensure that these support the widest range of company products possible and are aligned with technical strategy
  • To ensure that products delivered are supportable, cost effective, meet the department’s strategic business needs, and align to the departmental technical strategy

Education Requirements:

  • University Degree or Diploma
