Safe job site to work in.
Industrial Pipefitter (Current Employee), Fort Nelson, BCAugust 28, 2012
Pros: free food even tho i could use some improvement
Cons: transportation is not the most comfortable
A typical day at work starts always with a safety meeting since safety is #1 priority in this job site. I have learned valuable lessons on piping connecting to rotating equipment since am assisting the Millwrights on this job.

Coworkers are really friendly and helpful at work most of the people here has a good attitude, some supervisors are very organized – more... and some others are not as much just like any other job, i consider the transportation the hardest part of the job since it takes a while to get to the job site. the most enjoyable part of the job to me would be assisting Millwrights on pumps alignment since its all clean and all about precision. – less

Great Company! Except SPB location
Engineer (Former Employee), SPBAugust 22, 2014
Pros: epc small and large project engagement, experience and training opportunities
Cons: "lg" management
CH2MHILL is an excellent corporation, great core values and friendly knowledgeable team members in other office locations. EPC small and large project engagement experience and training opportunities.

SPB location leads feel actually believe they are not accountable or will not be held accountable to CH2MHILL corporate guidelines, core values or business – more... practices. Management is supportive of the "LG" operatives, be it the ethical violations, harassment, or non existing equal opportunity they engage in while conducting business. – less

Unstable company; Going downhill fast
Project Manager (Former Employee), Atlanta, GAJuly 21, 2014
Managers fosters an unhealthy atmosphere of unethical competition. Branded message is not an accurate depiction of the company. They do not care about their employees or work-life balance. They care about sucking clients dry by utilizing the industry's highest rates imaginable.

Biologist (Current Employee), Palm Springs, CAJune 20, 2014
Pros: work is usually outside.
Cons: work is usually in the middle of no where.
A typical day at work would include a preconstruction survey of the construction site and surrounding area for wildlife. Monitor construction activities and conduct periodic wildlife sweeps throughout the day. Relocate wildlife of the work site and halt all construction activities, if biological constraints warrant it. Submit daily field inquiries of – more... the day's activities and observations. Check in with the Lead Biologist if mitigation measures or activities are unclear. – less

Lack of Security
Project Accountant (Current Employee), SwindonJune 4, 2014
Pros: flexible working
Cons: lack of security
I looked after around 80 projects as a Project Accountant, I would have to analyse reports, monitor WIP, issue bills to clients and monitor debts.
No senior finance managers were based in my location so I had very little to do with them, but from early 2013 there has been a complete lack of security and now jobs are being moved to Poland and there are – more... lots of redundancies. They did allow flexible working and working from home so offered a good work life balance, but I would not choose to work for them again. – less

Current Job Review
Industrial Engineer (Current Employee), Portland, ORJune 2, 2014
Pros: great projects
Cons: management system
There are no typical days at work here, but that's part of the fascination. I learned to be flexible and to work hard on everything, because even the small projects may be what brings you the bid. My co-workers are very intelligent and great to work with, but the management structure is terrible and constantly re-organizing. The hardest part of the – more... job is managing your manager, but the people you work with and the projects we win are the most rewarding. – less

This project was an interesting place to work.
High Voltage Technician, Lead (Former Employee), South San Jose, CAMay 31, 2014
Pros: an enjoyable project to work on.
Cons: the compensation is below industry rates.
For a maintenance technician, this job is interesting and there is always variation in the work. The management is supportive and easy to work with. The supervisors are exceptional. The customers are outstanding people, and it was a privilege to support their operation.

The management recognizes good work, and gives out small bonuses from time to time.

The – more... most challenging part of the job is solving mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner to keep the process from trending out of spec. – less
