What you will do:
The Sr. Voice Consultant will be assigned to WSIB and will reside at WSIB’s Simcoe Place location in downtown Toronto. In conjunction with the Unified Communications Remote team, they will be accountable for any onsite work and remote assistance at other locations as required. Additionally, the Sr. Consultant will act in a consultative role with WSIB for future growth and expansion of services. This client facing position requires strong technical communications and documentation skills. In addition the role requires the ability to provide clients with quality training and documentation on the implemented solutions. Must be able to work evenings and weekends when required for upgrades and system maintenance. Must be available at all hours in the event of failure and restoration.
This position is required to participate in after-hour on call processes for all UC managed clients
Provide Level 2nd and 3rd level technical support to Unified Communications Managed Services Client’s UC/WAN/LAN networks including incident management, configuration management, change management, problem management.
Provide onsite and remote support for WSIB requests including, but not limited to, Moves, Adds and Changes, onsite inventory management, technical consulting with WSIB support staff and trouble shooting and reporting issues regarding PRI or other telco issues.
Potentially responsible for configuration of network infrastructure including (but not limited to) routers / switches / wireless equipment etc.
Interface with WSIB and UC to ensure processes are being followed and reviewed.
Responsible for training clients on use of equipment.
Develop and maintain documentation for the WSIB environment. Documentation must be developed and maintained with emphasis on both aesthetics and accuracy of technical content.
Will be the technical contact for WSIB MACD and Service issues.
Responsible for restoring platforms in the event of a failure, providing status updates on a timely basis, including root cause analysis and problem resolution procedures.
As the ideal candidate you have:
Current CCIE Voice
Demonstrated extensive experience in implementing, operating, configuring and troubleshooting complex Cisco UC Infrastructure comprising Call Manager, Unity, voice applications etc. and Cisco IP telephony supporting routers, switches and voice gateways.
Proven working knowledge of IP, MPLS and Multicast protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, LDP, IPSec, L2TP, VPN, EIGRP, GRE, QoS and IP telephony (VOIP, H.323, SIP)
Comprehensive knowledge of Operational Support Systems (OSS) related to telecommunications network technologies (switching, transport, Internet Protocol(IP) /data and integrated services), including trouble ticketing, alarming, fault management, traffic management and inventory management – with a focus on OSS’s supporting the IP network.
Demonstrated working knowledge in configuring and installing technologies such as switched Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and various routing (static, ripv1/v2, EIGRP and BGP)
Wireless design and implementation expertise with Cisco wireless products and associated certifications is highly desirable.
Security design and implementation expertise with Cisco security products and associated certifications is highly desirable.
Experience with OCS / MOC and other Microsoft UC technologies are highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Outstanding communication skills written and verbal.
Negotiation and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel anywhere within Canada on relatively short (one week) notice typically by pre-arranged flights.
Sufficient physical dexterity to rack servers / switches / routers, etc
Comfortable working with and able to properly communicate project status updates
Highly organized and able to manage time including weekends and evenings as needed to facilitate project deployments while minimizing impact on client’s business operations.
Ability to effectively balance multiple concurrent projects, meeting tight deadlines.
Able to demonstrate a high level of service delivery and understanding of business practices with emphasis on quality of work

Education & Certification
Current Cisco CCIE Voice
Current Cisco CCNP and / or CCDP (Mandatory)
Current Microsoft MCSE (Desirable)
Post-secondary degree in computer science or scientific / engineering discipline (Desirable)
Note: Allstream will verify with Cisco / Microsoft all certifications listed for finalists. To this end applicants will be asked to provide their CISCO Testing ID’s number and CCIE Numbers as applicable. Copies of certificates will also be required along with expiration dates.
“Hands-on” implementation and troubleshooting with major Cisco UC products as listed under “Key Responsibilities” section
LAN/WAN infrastructure deployment using Cisco’s infrastructure solutions.
Experience in supporting complex network/systems solutions to large companies, preferably both enterprise and service providers (3-5 years)
Experience in operational support environment, especially managed/outsourced services
Customer Service experience (2 years)
Fluent English verbal & written skills (Mandatory)
French verbal & written skills (Desirable)
