Good place to work but poor management
team lead (Former Employee), Baltimore, MDJuly 8, 2014
Pros: great benifits, free employee meals
Cons: less than 30 hrs a week
A typical day at work is like working at any other retail work enviroment you're basically standing for a long period of time giving the best service as possible, dealing with all sorts of customers some nice and some very rude. The important thing that i learned is that the customer is always right and you have to do your very best to fix whatever – more... the problem is to please the customer (aim to please) and to create a memoriable experience. The management there is pretty unfair because they use favortism and age inorder to decide who leads opose to who can actually handle the job.The hardest part of the job would be working around unfriendly and selfish co-workers and managers because it causes a very stressful enviroment. However, the most enjoyable part of the job would be being able to just be yourself , getting the chance to connect and bond with the customers and making them laugh. – less

Food Preparation Worker (Former Employee), San Francisco, CAJuly 4, 2014
Pros: free lunch
Cons: bad people to work with
Centerplate is ok company to work with.
I learned people complain over work that doesn't pay much.
Co workers are very pushy for a job that pays very low.
Hardest part of job is just organizing all the food.
Most enjoyable part of job is seeing the crowd and the awesome atmosphere of the baseball stadium.
Typical day of work involves arriving punctual – more... to work, wearing the appropriate uniform and arriving to the assigned stand and once you arrive their you clock in and I begin preparing food for the customers to buy. I work for 5 hours, clean up my area and I sign out and I go home. – less

This is an athletic enviroment, filled with excitement and adventure.
Concessions Supervisor (Current Employee), South Bend, INJuly 3, 2014
Pros: the people that you get to meet.
Cons: no benefits.
Working at an athletic college; where I am a banquet server, I enjoy my job extremely. You have the opportunity to meet so many famous and friendly people. Being able to be in a captain's position I worked with the culinary staff to execute meals in a timely manner. Working as a team with your co-workers to accomplish the same goal. To Serve the Customers – more... and clients with respect, and dignity. The hours are somewhat long, but always gratifying, to know at the end of the day you helped someone find their seat, let them know where the right food or beverage is that they are looking for, and even assist in a medical situation. – less

Manager/Bartender (Current Employee), Denver, COJuly 2, 2014
Great place to work, on a typicall day the bar needs to be set from scrach and ready for customers in two hours. The bar then serves for an allowed period of time. During this time I service customers as well as due bank drops throughout the shift. Manage other employees to ensure safe alcohol sells. Managment is engaged and there to help whenever needed.

Title and responsibilities without compensation
Concessions Manager (Current Employee), MarylandJune 13, 2014
Pros: free lunch, great atmosphere, lots of responsiblility for a growing manager
Cons: poor compensation (especially comparable to the cost of living in the area)
This job is a great learning experience, especially for young managers entering the work field. My current position is challenging by managing 50 separate kitchens, 1200 employees, a full time staff of 20, 3 main vendors, 6 contractors, and numerous other responsibilities. My coworkers are terrific, but most have moved on because of the long strenuous – more... days with little compensation. This job is challenging, like I mentioned, but it is an amazing feeling watching all of your hard work become a reality on game day. Your hard work provides 84,000 fans with the opportunity to enjoy themselves at a wonderful sporting event. – less
