sucks
cast member (Former Employee), cedar rapids, Iowa – March 27, 2013
Pros: the kids are great
Cons: no breaks, long hours, poor management
I worked open to close weekend on a regular basis with no brake. I did all the work of a team two and birthday coordinator but their too cheap to give me a raise. After two years with no raises and being treated poorly by new management I had to Get out. The place is dirty, full of poor sanitation habits. I personally do not eat there anymore, or even – more... go there, since learning all the dirty truths. – less

Productive and fun work place with games and entertainment.
Cashier (Current Employee), Arlington, TX – March 21, 2013
Pros: free lunch and tokens
Cons: rude costumers and indecisive.
A typical day at work, is helping with prizes, filling the salad bar, keeping the work place clean and costumer service. Patience, kindness and team work. Management is lenient but ready to help at any given moment. Each co-worker has their own task but are there to help when needed. Closing time has its difficulties because of the need to have everything – more... cleaned before being able to go home. Seeing the kids enjoy themselves so much as they play and dance with Chuck- E. – less

Fun workplace and great managment
Host and Party Coordinator (Former Employee), Matteson,IL – March 21, 2013
CEC was very diverse and colorful. A fun workplace that taught me how to interact with people of all ages. Management was very organized and easy to communicate with. Co-workers were extremely helpful and energetic. The hardest part of the job was initially coming out of my shell. This helped me become the outgoing person I am today. I would have to – more... say that all I had learned working for CEC Entertainment was enjoyable. I learned things about myself as well as how to work with people from different backgrounds. – less

Over worked , Required to wear "too many hats"
General Manager (Former Employee), CT – March 19, 2013
Pros: money was ok
Cons: you have no life
As a General Manager in waiting I soon found that the day to day demands of the job (cleaning, cooking, greeting people, etc) made it almost impossible to be an effective manager.

You can't do your job if your doing the jobs of employees that should be hired but aren't because the corporate office won't allow it.

Bottom line is that the work, stress, – more... and overall BS isn't worth what you get in return.

Oh, did I mention all the pain in the you know what parents? – less

Not a good place to work
Cook/Greeter/Maintenance (Former Employee), Memphis Tn Austin Peay Hwy 38128 – March 16, 2013
Cons: no breaks, no discounts, no hours, no orientation, everyone is late, horrible service, horrible work conditions
I was not trained, I was written up with no understanding of the rules and no warning. Managers choose favorites.I had to stand out in the snow for an hour because of the manager not having access to the store.I was hired for a job I never got to do. Constant shooting either in the parking lot or at the building itself! staff has to buy their entire – more... outfit.staff cannot play games. – less

Fun and exciting with lots of games and kids
Manger (Former Employee), Evansville, IN – March 14, 2013
Pros: free meals, challenging at times
Cons: expensive healthcare
Days were normally good as we were visited by our return guest, some weekly, monthly, yearly. Our management team learned to deal with the needs of different families so that every guest left happy.
The hardest part was managing teenagers.
The most enjoyable seeing the smiles on the kids faces and knowing they had fun, as well as the parents when we – more... did our jobs right – less

better some days, worse others
Hostess (Former Employee), North Bergen, NJ – March 12, 2013
i mean, you have to like kids or else you'll lose your mind, you will be doing everything other than your job title, expect nothing less. it will feel like you shouldn't be there some days, but other times you will have fun.

Fun Place to Work at but not a real challange or career opportunity
Cashier/Prize Counter/Kitchen Prep (Former Employee), Burlington, NJ – March 10, 2013
Pros: interacting with children and busy environment
Cons: salary, lack of advancement, lack of professionalism at times
I held many responsibilities at CEC starting with security at the front entrance to prepping the salad bar as well as keeping up with it during the day, being a cashier who knew all the offers we had going on at the moment and running the prize counter as the helper to give all the children that just won their hard earned tickets a chance to redeem – more... them (while learning math in the process). I was also able to go out in the community as Chuckie and show kids the importance of coming out for positive events (such as their fundraisers for their schools). My co-workers were a lot younger than me and it made for a less professional environment at times which would also have to be settled but overall it was good to get involved with the parents and kids alike in an interactive job such as this. I believe however CEC didn't hold enough challange, professionalism at times or customer service for someone like me. It also held no hope of advancement. – less

Horrible company trying to save image
gameroom (Former Employee), Las Vegas – March 8, 2013
Cons: long hours, horrible management, dirty
Unlike these new reviews that claim its a great job..I really did work there. It was completely disorganized, dirty, the management was horrible. The hours are ridiculous you are required to do the job of 50people. Everyone thinks their a manager. I only had one actual manager out of the real managers who was nice and cared. Everyone else was rude and – more... always yelling! Dont work here even if your desperate! – less

Stressful atomosphere but that's a given
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Bradenton, fl – March 6, 2013
Pros: basically free meals, possible fun atomosphere
Cons: no breaks, rude customers, not so understanding management
This job was a great "get me by" job. It had an extremely stressful atomosphere with the screaming kids, then the screaming adults to control their kids and then the usual "get your order wrong" stuff. Overall I would tell anyone who needed a job to take it. But at the same time; look elsewhere.
