Fast paced job with constant desire to learn more.
Retail Agency Broker (Former Employee), Zagreb, Croatia – January 21, 2013
Lots of travel all around the country of Croatia, visiting job sites meeting with clients. Working in another country taught me to learn that there are many point of views that need to be taken into consideration. With the amount of time spent with my co-workers we all became like a little family. The hardest part of this job was to be absent for days – more... at a time without seeing my own family members. The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting new people that taught me something new all the time. – less

daily operation, maintenance, and repair of office building equipment
Building Engineer (Former Employee), Cleveland, OH – May 16, 2013
Pros: learning to work unsupervised
We always had preventative maintenance(PM) scheduled for the month so we would create a schedule to reflect the order we wanted or needed to do the PM work daily. Are daily equipment operation was based on the current weather conditions. Monthly we operate the emergency generator and used the two fire pumps for load. In addition, this allow us to test – more... the fire pump automatic transfer switches and the pressure relief valves, among other life safety concerns. At this time we would test the garage dry pipe system too.
We had no boss so we set up are own PM schedule, order tools and test equipment and kept that building in tip top shape. So good that an asset manager for a prospective buyer gave us the highest complement when after completing his study said this equipment(15 years old) is so well maintained it will last another 30 years.

This job is where I learned most of my skills. It was a great job – less

Worst company I have ever worked for
Facilities Coordinator (Former Employee), Tennessee – May 2, 2013
Cons: everything
I was hired on, sexually harassed, disrespected and lied to. The supervisor who was harassing me was basically slapped on the hand, and had the company's full support. I was moved to a uninhabitable work station and was micro-managed from that point forward. I was very mistreated, and was not given the tools I needed to do my job. The environment became – more... hostile. When I complained, I was fired. They wrote me a letter stating they "accepted my resignation", although I never resigned. I am disgusted by this company. They claim their values are Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence. That is just not the case at all. Stay away!! – less

Day Porter/Facilities Coordinator (Current Employee), New York, NY – March 1, 2013
Starting at this job as a day porter i had always wanted to move into the engineer helpers position to become a licensed engineer. After roughly 3 years with this company the position i had been waiting and hoping for finally opened up and i let it be known how interested i was to fill the spot. Unfortunately i was passed over and they hired an outside – more... person. i felt slited and mistreated and it really put a bad taste in my mouth about the management of this company. most of my co-workers are great but some people seem as though they only care about themselves and their own advancement and step on others to get there. – less

Work environment depends on which account you are working on.
Facility Coordinator (Former Employee), Palo Alto – January 25, 2013
Pros: good benefits
Cons: each account has different management, so you never know what your work environment will be.
I enjoyed the challenges working for CBRE. My biggest complaint is that there is no job security. If CBRE loses the contract supporting a company then everyone supporting that account loses employment.

CBRE Review Summary
Project Manager/Senior Portfolio Manager (Former Employee), Phoenix, AZ – January 23, 2013
Pros: constant training and support, freedom to perform at your position without micromanagement, open door policy, weekly team meetings to discuss portfolio performance, organized, productive, fun and enjoyable work environment
Cons: i have no cons for this position.
Working for CBRE was the most rewarding and positive employment experience I have ever had. The company truly believed in their employees and equipped them with the tools and opportunities to grow within the company. My typical day at CBRE involved managing a huge portfolio owned by a three nationally known investors. I had numerous property managers, – more... assistant managers, engineers and ground crew to manage. I interviewed, assisted with hiring, trained and continually motivated my managers. I performed employee performance reviews, reviewed all financial documents, reviewed and approved invoices, walked properties on a constant basis to ensure the properties were properly being managed and cared for, managed tenant improvements, managed building renovations, provided tenant retention services, and constantly looked for avenues to improve the performance and profitability of the portfolio. I also assisted in leasing and sales activities within the portfolio. I sent out request for proposals on contract services, reviewed proposals, provided a bid matrix and assisted in the selection and procurement of contractors in the portfolio. I assisted in upgrading the interiors and mechanical equipment of said portfolio. I also served on the strategic planning committee, seeking new ways to enhance the performance of the portfolio, as well as looking for new ways for the partnership to invest.

This position allowed me a more hands on approach with my managers, as well as being a team leader for a large team. My co-workers were very positive and enthusiastic about their position and responsibilities and were very respectful to senior management. The hardest part of this position was the hours that were required of me, however, as I stated above, CBRE was always aware of what was required of their senior staff members. I definitely appreciated teleworking at home during the annual budget development period to allow for uninterrupted work time when working on portfolio budgets and five year forecasting plans.

Working for this company was a very rewarding experience, and while I worked hard while I was there, I enjoyed every minute of my time of employment. It was not unusual to put in 60 hours a week but CBRE constantly demonstrated their support and knowledge of the time and work that was required. That was demonstrated through company support when we had a death in the family. Unfortunately, my father passed away unexpectedly, leaving my mother devastated. We had to return back to Colorado to assist her after his death and help her adjust to being alone. The company was incredibly supportive of my family in the untimely death of my father and the adjustments required in our family. – less
