Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the company’s health and safety policies and procedures are in compliance with legislation
  • Coordinate the activities within the company’s accident prevention program
  • Oversee training program and communicate scheduling
  • Assist with incident / injury investigations
  • Assist with workplace inspections
  • Assist with any orders from the MOL / MOE / MTO
  • Coordinate JHSC meetings
  • Assist with WSIB claims management
  • Tracking job site inspections, safety meetings and various other safety reports including the monitoring, and ensuring the adequacy of, follow up actions
  • Explosives magazine licensing
  • Liaise with the corporate health and safety manager
  • Produce health and safety monitoring reports
  • Other clerical duties as required, including some human resources functions

  • Bilingual in English/French is a definite asset

Work and Education Experience Required:

  • Mininum of 2 years of experience in Health and Safety or Human Resources
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree is an asset
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee certification is an asset

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience and education

STATUS: Full Time, Permanent – 40hrs/week
