My partner and I, both previous editors and assistant editors-in-chief of magazine publications, are launching an online magazine of political and social nature with a foundation in world issues and global phenomena. We are looking for a team of writers to contribute at least 6+ monthly pieces within the year. Topics will be assigned however if a writer is an expert in a particular field (for instance, political science or familiar with charities) then they will have leeway to write about these things so long as they check with their superior first. Other suggestions and proposals will always be considered.

No fashion or gossip writers. Reviewers of any kind are welcome (ex: food, movies, books, social events or venues etc).

Please note that this job is not paid. We understand that people have lives outside of work, and we also understand that although people look for paid opportunities, we offer references for your future job applications, as well as PDFs for your portfolio (in design layout), and you will be added to out website page under "Profiles". (Please note that you will only be considered part of the team if you contribute at least 6+ articles a year. The publication is monthly.) Also, we will serve as references when you apply for paid jobs (does not apply if you submitted only one work).

If within the year we gain a large enough readership, we will expand into print or begin to charge subscription fees. If this is the case, all of our workers will be paid on a monthly basis.

Please note that this is not full-time. You may submit as many articles as you like, but if you submit less than 6 yearly you will not be considered as part of the team but simply a contributor to the publication.

We ask that you send a resume, a few brief lines as to why you wish to join the team if it's not paid, and 2 or more samples of your work (it can be of any nature except poetry - short stories accepted - we just want to see your capabilities).
