Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for leading the finance staff in all aspects of accounting. Key responsibilities are the preparation of the corporate financial statements for all Carefor cost centres, preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, assists with annual budget preparation, prepares financial and statistical reports for external sources, and ensures excellent internal controls. The Corporate Accountant will maintain the financial and statistical information and provides a detailed analysis of the reports with performance indicators.

We are looking for someone who can see the big picture, likes to be challenged and enjoys taking part in numerous projects. You will be responsible for the month end close which includes the preparation of the corporate financials.

Qualifications include:

Seven years experience in accounting
Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CGA, CMA) preferred
Advanced skills in integrated accounting systems, including report design, payroll, Microsoft suite
Knowledge and experience in areas of financial analysis and controls, budget preparation, and audit reports
Experience in a not for profit organization, registered charity, unionized environment
Effective leadership, coaching, training and mentoring ability
Personal suitability will include the ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion and judgment
The ability to meet deadlines; ability to deal effectively with people internally and externally, work under pressure with attention to detail and be cross-functional
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Hours of Work: 37.5 hrs weekly (8:00 to 16:30)

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 year Plus a comprehensive benefit package
