As an Architectural Designer you will work closely with a Business Development team of professionals including market research analysts, engineers, estimators, construction managers and fellow designers to create a catalogue of new product designs to address new business opportunities and anticipate future opportunities. Specifically you will:

  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
  • Draw conceptual and working drawings for foundations, buildings and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specifications sheets and other data.
  • Prepare architectural and working drawings showing plans, elevations, sections, materials, finishes and other aspects such as layouts, plumbing, drainage, car parking and landscaping.
  • Liaise with construction professionals regarding the feasibility of a proposed project, including constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget.

To be successful in this position you will have: a minimum of 5 years experience in residential architecture; a university degree or diploma in architecture; high levels of creativity, imagination & vision; proficiency in 3-D computer-aided design; and solid business acumen, analytical and problem solving skills. An ability to travel is also required.
