Our client is a private investment company that purchases businesses with a good track record of earnings. They are currently searching for a VP: Mergers and Acquisitions for their Alberta operations.
They focus on looking for investments in Western Canada in sectors that have a long-term future. Industries include: Energy Services: (oil and gas drilling services, production services, maintenance services, general service to the oil, gas and electricity markets) Industrial Maintenance: (companies that provide industrial services to the petrochemical, pulp and paper, mining and power industries), and General Business Services: businesses that grow with the economy. The owner of the business is a CA with extensive experience working with management teams on acquisitions, finance and corporate growth.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
- CA Designation
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the completion of M&A; private industry or public practice.
- Ability to communicate in an easy manner, yet speak the ‘accounting language’.
- Business Development experience/acumen. Must be able to source and close deals.
- Ambition. Must be aggressive and competitive in a business environment, and strive for growth.
This role will be a split between business development, analyst and negotiation. Your background experience could be from the Corporate Finance group of a major public practice firm, or as President/CEO of a business where you have been heavily involved with M&A.
The successful candidates will earn a competitive base salary, bonus plus company equity.
This role could be based out of Edmonton, or Calgary.
