Quality Assurance Analyst (Co-op) (Former Employee) – Thunder Bay, ON – December 25, 2015
A very good platform to experience work. I joined as a student but I was considered work was given as a regular employee, good exposure to work and professional culture. Most enjoyable part was challenging deadlines and intresting work
Research Associate (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – August 19, 2015
CCO has a good group of people who have a lot of fun work activities to increase morale and allow people within the organization to get to know each other. A lot of restructuring has happened with different departments/units however that has caused a lot of instability with current coworkers and their positions.
Hard to get contract renewed, but a fantastic opportunity
ASSOCIATE ANALYST (JR. DEVELOPER) (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – February 25, 2014
Other than the fact that it's hard to get a renewal for contractors, or even shift into a permanent position, CCO is a fantastic place to work and I enjoyed my time there. I learned a few new skills from this place and was glad to give my contribution to the fight against cancer. Not many people talk to each other though...
great pay, management is very open and transparent
hard to stay there, employee interaction is minimal
RUN AWAY - unless you're a total slacker and love seeing nothing accomplished.
Ex-Screening Dept. (Former Employee) – Toronto – August 19, 2013
Gotta love all the reviews written by 'lifer' pub sec slugs. CCO is a great place to learn jack. Except how to waste tax money and pretend that you're busy. If you've ever entertained the idea of moving from the private sector to something 'meaningful' - spare yourself the grief. I've witnessed nothing but pathetic, inept management and some of the most vengeful immature behaviour from people who should know better. What a terrible waste of a good cause and our hard earned tax money. Read more accurate reviews elsewhere. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
zero upward mobility, must suck up, watch capable colleagues pushed out by incompetents fearing that they'll be discovered.
Good salary, benefits & job security; but no culture, incentive to stay, and little work life balance
Project Manager (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – April 19, 2013
I have worked at Cancer Care Ontario for two years. Most of the people that work there are friendly and educated, however, there is a lot of corporate policy which gets in the way of getting work done.
While the pay and benefits are fairly good, there is little to no culture at the company. Most of the workers come in and force a smile in the morning and are gone at 5pm with little or no social aspect.
If you are simply looking for a job and are comfortable without much ability to advance, no bonuses, and little social/culture in the company you may be satisfied.
pay, work hours
no corporate culture, corporate policy makes it difficult to do your job
A friendly, multi-cultural environment full of opportunities.

Excellent company to work for. Excellent management staff. Provides an excellent opportunity for staff to grow.
EA to the VP, CFO (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – September 7, 2012
A typical day at work is administrative functions and to ensure that the office of the VP is run smoothly. Calendar management and coordination of meetings. A fast paced environment. Concentration on details. Learned a lot from being in the organization for the past 16 years growing intellectually and responsibility-wise. Excellent management staff in place to guide the organization every step of the way. Good morale amongst staff. Do not believe a job is hard if you have the right attitude and the aptitude to learn and perfect it. The most enjoyable part of the job is you are given more and more responsibility because the management has confidence in your ability to perform.
