Canadian Western Bank (the Bank) provides financial services to small and medium-sized businesses and individuals across the four western provinces of Canada. It operates in two segments: banking and trust, which provides services to personal clients and small and medium-sized commercial business clients primarily in Western Canada, and insurance, which provides home and automobile insurance to individuals in Alberta and British Columbia. Its subsidiaries include Canadian Western Trust Company (CWT), Valiant Trust Company (Valiant), Canadian Western Financial Ltd. (CWF) and Canadian Direct Insurance Incorporated (CDI). It offers third-party mutual funds through CWF, its mutual fund dealer subsidiary. CWT provides trust services, including self-directed registered retirement savings plan (RRSPs) and registered retirement investment fund (RRIFs), as well as corporate and group trust services. On December 1, 2008, the Bank acquired 72.5% interest in Adroit Investment Management Ltd.
