Cashier (Former Employee) – Bolton, ON – 16 March 2018
I started working at Canadian tire as a junior in high school, so I was fairly young. If you have no seniority with the company then you're rarely given a second look by the other employees working there. The job itself was very easy, as I was a cashier and simply had to ring in customers items and keep my area clean. Management was always all over the place and never seemed to take their job seriously. The discounts weren't immediate, you had to remember to keep your receipts and "cash them in" every 4 months, which isn't ideal to many.
Always got my break on time
Not flexible with schedules, would take you off the schedule for two weeks for needing one day off.
Cashier (Current Employee) – Woodstock, ON – 5 March 2018
Very great job to have throughout highscool/college, not much room for advancement within the company. I worked there for quite sometime, lovely environment full of amazing coworkers that make it feel like a second family, very understanding management despite picking favourites time to time
Cashier (Current Employee) – Cambridge, ON – 1 March 2018
Amazing place to work, good hours and even better people. I've learned a lot when it came to working in other departments, how to locate things and most importantly I got to learn things about people that I would've called my co workers, but are now friends. Great place to be and great people to be around

Cashier (Former Employee) – Caledonia, ON – 24 February 2018
Ultimately not the worst place to work, but not somewhere I would want to be for a long time. Provided me with decent training and good first job experience for future retail positions. Management was terrible, coworkers were, again, decent.

Cashier (Former Employee) – Terrace, BC – 10 February 2018
Canadian Tire was a great part-time job as a student. Hours were flexible for school and sports, I really appreciated that when working there. What I learned when being a cashier is gaining confidence, Being forced to talk to people has helped me grow a lot as a person, And meeting great people. The enjoyable part of being a cashier at Canadian tire, I enjoyed the level of open and direct communication I had with the staff and the customers.
Cashier (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 9 February 2018
My time at Canadian Tire is enjoyable including a great atmosphere with amazing people. As a cashier, you are responsible for leaving the customers with a good impression of the store as you are the last employees they will see on their way out. This is not a very fast paced job but requires excellent customer service skill and being able to independently and quickly problem solve. Although the staff at Canadian Tire are very team orientated, it is important that you are able to think for yourself. The hardest part of this job is honestly trying to stay busy when it is slow. Canadian Tire is a great first job or rather a part-time student job as they are mostly flexible and understand with school hours.
Cashier (Former Employee) – Newmarket, ON – 4 February 2018

Cashier (Former Employee) – Perth, ON – 15 January 2018
The most enjoyable part about working at canadian tire was the amazing employees I had and how well we all worked together to get jobs done. I also enjoyed how much of a helping place canadian tire was.
Cashier (Current Employee) – Kelowna, BC – 12 January 2018
A typical day at work feels normal, it will come and go, doing the same thing everyday. I learned that you have to love whatever you do for you to enjoy what you are doing. The Management are nice but they are not approachable specially if you need something urgent, you can't count on them. the workplace culture is like on and off, depending on how the day is going, the hardest part of the job is lifting heavy boxes
Cashier (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 10 January 2018
I learned lots of new things at Canadian Tire because this is my first job in Canada. It makes me feel more confident about myself in socializing with people. As an immigrant, it's hard for me to communicate at first because English is not my first language.
