The CNPS IT Manager is primarily responsible for providing technical guidance and support to the CNPS, its employees, vendors and eligible nursing professionals. The CNPS IT Manager is also responsible for the management and coordination of all the IT-related systems and infrastructure necessary to deliver services to our eligible nursing professionals with minimal downtime or disruption.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates information technology (IT) within the office including network management and administration ensuring minimal downtime
  • Manages the configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user workstations, hardware, software and peripheral devices
  • Monitors, maintains and updates CNPS' web sites including preparing reports that measure web site usage, visitor metrics and engagement
  • Identifies IT software, hardware and service requirements, and prepares annual computer technology budget
  • Manages the IT asset life cycle, including planning and scheduling upgrades and asset acquisitions, as well as safely and securely disposing of retired assets
  • Executes proactive maintenance, monitoring and information security policies that ensure a stable and secure IT business environment
  • Issues RFPs (requests for proposals) for IT-related projects, evaluates proposals and makes recommendations to senior management, negotiates pricing for products and services, and oversees the work done by external vendors and consultants
  • Provides end user support, including managing the delivery of IT support services to all employees and CNPS clients, including webinars and video-conferencing
  • Trains end users on various databases, and computer and web-based applications
  • Ensures accuracy and integrity of the records management system and databases through content analysis and statistical techniques
  • Evaluates IT risk and security status; coordinates Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Business planning
  • Manages telephony and audio-visual systems

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience, which includes at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science plus relevant certifications

ADVANCED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Implementing, administering and supporting Microsoft Windows and Exchange servers and desktops
  • MS SQL database administration, query development and reporting
  • Active Directory and user rights management as well as experience performing regular backup, data retention and recovery
  • Network administration, security and architecture, including LAN/WAN infrastructure, network protocols, firewall configuration, access rules management, routing tables, performance measurement; and knowledge of intrusion detection concepts and practices
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting a wide variety of servers, desktops, printers, network devices and software
  • IP phones, T1 and Automatic Call Distribution Systems (ACD)
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting Windows 7 Professional, Microsoft Office, WordPerfect Office, and CRM tools and applications
  • MySQL, WordPress, PHP and HTML website development, and search engine optimization

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated good judgment and an ability to adapt rapidly to a dynamic and changing environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • A proven ability to lead and complete technical projects on time and on budget

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical certifications such as A+, MCSE, MCITP, ITIL, PMP, CCNA
  • PHP/MySQL Web Application Development
  • Mobile app development and database programming
  • Experience supporting Adobe Connect
  • Amending existing or creating new databases in FileMaker Pro
  • Fluency in both official languages, written and oral
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the health sector and working with health/legal related data
