Construction Coordinator, Civil (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB21 September 2017
Career advancement was very difficult unless you were favoured by the right individuals. Work ethic did not necessarily make you eligible for the favourites list

Director of Recruitment and Staffing (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB16 September 2017
Great place to work. Management was very accepting of new ideas and allowed me to do my job. The compensation package offered by the company was outstanding. Delivering value is what the company strives for and if you delivered you are recognized and rewarded for your contributions.

Big change from Shell
Regulatory Coordinator - Albian (Current Employee) –  Calgary, AB13 August 2017
Our group at Shell was purchased by CNRL. It's been a big change. CNRL is still a small company at heart and runs on a small company culture. Decision making is very centralized and very fast.

Laboratory Technologist (Current Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB11 August 2017
Things are approved quickly. 7/7 schedule is very common in the industry, so having a work life balance can be tough, but still an amazing opportunity to work here.

As with most of the oil and gas industry high stress and work load
Production Operator (Current Employee) –  Alberta13 July 2017
Management is tough always pushing for more production, more hours, and more commitment from field operations. Morale is low in our area. Individuals being laid off without good reason. Probably looking at the bottom line. Looking to only have yes men/women. Have not been treated this badly in my entire career.
Pros
responsible for company truck, get to move to multiple locations through out the field.
Cons
Automaton, micro managed. Not empowered.

Engineer (Current Employee) –  Calgary, AB22 June 2017
CNRL is a good company to work for. Since the down turn in with the price of oil we never announced massive layoffs like our competitors. Lots of good people and some bad, just like many other places. Great company to invest in, always growing and improving.
Pros
steady work
Cons
no raises since slow down just a pay cut.

Surface Land Administrator (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB2 June 2017
Good place to work, if you work hard you will be treated fairly, Can get very busy. The work culture is a bit classic in its management approach, so at times the work environment can be a little too serious.
Pros
Fair Treatment, if you work hard you will be noticed
Cons
little too serious at times....

Mine Training (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB16 May 2017
The management treated people as machines and often unfairly. If there was ever a 'corporation' mentality this is the place. The pay was good, but the days were long and torturous.
