Position Summary:

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating all first party events within the province including planning, execution and follow-up of first party event related items, including but not limited to securing sponsorships, media relations and donor development
  • Acts as a representative of the CLF, the Event/Fundraiser Coordinator safeguards the interests of the CLF, the event participants/donors by following established procedures and guidelines ensuring the quality of every event
  • Organize and conduct health promotion activities which include health fairs
  • This position will also be responsible for managing volunteers

Key Accountabilities:

  • Apply event management principles and processes to manage the full cycle of events within the province
  • Ensure all events follow relevant CLF policies and procedures and ensure the high level of standards for each event are met
  • Communicate with volunteers, suppliers, donors, sponsors, community liaisons to

relate relevant information when appropriate

  • Utilize strong administrative and computer skills to complete administrative and date management tasks associated with event management on a timely basis
  • Create and generate reports where needed and ensure all reporting is up-to-date
  • Utilize a high degree of creativity in the development and design of marketing and promotional material including PSA’s, press releases, brochures, and other material
  • Establish and provide support to event committees as required to ensure success of each event (ie. guidance, materials, volunteers, timelines, etc.)

Relationship Building:

  • Establish and maintain a network of external relationships with volunteer, donors, sponsors and community liaisons
  • Establish and maintain relationships within the region and across the organization ensuring a teamwork approach when appropriate

Skills & Abilities:

  • Prioritization skills to develop and execute effective event critical paths
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary for managing the daily interactions with internal and external resources
  • Strong verbal and written skills required for representing the CLF at internal or external events, conducting media relations, developing and delivering presentations or participating as a guest speaker
  • Strong degree of drive, problem solving and decision making required in planning, coordinating and executing events within prescribed guidelines and budget limits as set out by CLF policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a high degree of judgement, sensitivity and confidentiality while working with medical and personal information of volunteers and donors

Other:

  • Participate in monthly regional/Board meetings
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education
  • Fundraising. event management, communications, public relations, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a sales capacity
  • Strong coomunication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized, multi-tasker and able to manage priorities and time
  • Attention to detail
  • Self motivated/self starter
  • Strong team player
