The Canadian Institute for NDE (CINDE) has roots back to the 60’s when the Canadian Society for NDT was first created and the NDE Institute that was formed in the 70's to train the NDT workforce. Since the merger of these two organizations in 2001, CINDE has been Canada's national not-for-profit member organization dedicated to the people and companies engaged in the business of non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection and evaluation.
The people working as inspectors in this critical occupational area help assure that public safety and the integrity of the environment are maintained on a daily basis. We fulfill our mandate to them through three main services: 1) Delivery of NDT training and professional development courses; 2) Operating a personnel certification test center under the auspices of the NRCan NDT Certification Body and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission; and 3) Providing a variety of Member Services that include the NDT in Canada annual conference, publishing the CINDE Journal, an on-line jobs and resume posting website, and member discounts on training materials.
