Camp Kirk is a small residential (overnight) summer camp for children who have Learning Disabilities, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and/or other types of exceptionalities. We strive to empower our campers and raise self-esteem by providing a supportive, nurturing, and non-competitive environment.
The Ropes Course and Leadership Instructor will be responsible for planning and facilitating a program that utilizes our high- and low ropes course elements and our rock climbing walls. The aim of our Ropes & Leadership program is to develop leadership skills, group dynamics, and personal challenge through a non-competitive and nurturing approach.
The dates of employment run from June 17th until August 23rd, 2014. All staff members reside at camp and Room and Board is provided over and above the salary. The salary for each position varies from approximately $2,500 to $3,500, depending on the position and the individual’s experience and qualifications.
- CUI Level 1 or 2 Certification or equivalent experience
- An interest to work with children with exceptionalities
- First Aid and CPR certification
- A current Vulnerable Sectors Criminal Record Check
