PHYSIOTHERAPIST (full-time, permanent)

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Physiotherapist is responsible for providing physiotherapy services to the Calgary West Central Primary Care Network (CWC PCN). The Physiotherapist will work with a team of professionals including family physicians, pharmacists, psychologists, dieticians and administrators providing integrated, evidence-based care.

Physiotherapy care includes a combination of hands-on assessment and treatment, consultation with other team members and the facilitation of group education and intervention programs.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs assessments, including review of history of injury/accident, prior medical/treatment intervention, other medical conditions and contraindications to treatment and presenting complaints.

Initiates appropriate intervention based on assessment findings, while communicating this to the physician and other relevant team members.

Provides clinical guidance in the development of exercise programs, as well as safe and effective treatment to clients.

Provides education and information to physicians, collaborative care team members and patients as requested or required.

Assesses and treats clients to productivity standards set by the Clinical Director.

Demonstrates flexibility in daily scheduling of clients to facilitate treatment plan fulfillment.

Facilitate training sessions and conduct workshops to transfer knowledge of skills to others, using adult learning principles and presenting content in an effective manner.


Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy and current Registration with the College of Physical Therapists/Physiotherapists in the province of Alberta.

1 - 3 years’ experience as a physiotherapist and experience working within a multidisciplinary team is also preferred.

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Experience working in a primary care environment is considered an asset.

Candidates must be very comfortable working in a team environment, incorporating group problem solving and sharing information and responsibility. Strong relationship building skills, both internally and externally, are also necessary.
