Enjoyable work atmosphere and great supervisors
Event Usher (Former Employee), Windsor, ONApril 10, 2014
Pros: free shows
Cons: fairly low pay, not many shifts
This was a job where I can gladly say I was excited to go into work. With the amazing co-workers I had, and friendly management there, it was always a great place to be. It taught me many skills and responsibilities too, such as proper customer service and keeping count of large quantities of items, along with organizing said items.

Not Good for most
Supervisor (Former Employee), Windsor,April 4, 2014
Pros: reasonable pay
Cons: non union considered expendable, extra work never rewarded
The day is burdened with extra work above and beyond normal duties. Learned considerable amount with regards to unionized companies. Upper management at director and executive level care only about own pockets. Hardest part of job knowing that no matter how much you may care about your staff this will not be considered at higher level. Most enjoyable – more... part of job is working with staff that ultimately really care about doing a job well. – less

Social Environment makes for a fun place to work.
Bartender (Current Employee), Windsor, ONFebruary 12, 2014
Working at Caesars for the last 17.5 years has opened me up to a large variety of social skills needed to encourage a positive productive working environment. People go to Caesars for a good time from gambling, eating at our wonderful restaurants, concerts and to generally enjoy their selves. Work is mostly laid back and relaxed as long as you have – more... the social skills to accept and understand customers needs. Management is generally understanding towards their employees needs and encourage a healthy working environment between costumers and staff, and staff and higher management . The hardest part of the job is that it's a 24 hour, 7 day operation. Days off may be Tues. and Wed. enabling you to miss all holidays and/or weekends with your family, it is difficult to get time off even tho mgmt provides the time to take off cause employees work short staffed. But I have to remark that the most enjoyable aspect of my job is that I have the ability to interact with my customers. There is nothing more enjoyable than putting a smile on someones face. Lets face it....we're all customers and enjoy good customer service and at Caesars, we do provide that! – less

A busy work environment.
Banquet Server (Former Employee), Windsor, ONFebruary 6, 2014
Working at Caesar's Windsor as a banquet server was a great opportunity. I was able to work a variety of events from banquets, luncheons, lobster fest, and many more. The other staff were all very friendly and welcoming, helping me get settled into the flow of things quickly. Some events could be messy and very fast paced, Lobster Fest was one of those – more... events. Being responsible to serve 40 people a 3 coarse meal as well as 3 separate beer tastings all at the same time. You have to be quick on your feet, well coordinated, and able to handle caring 50 plus lbs. – less

Second Cook (Current Employee), Windsor, ONNovember 30, 2013
Pros: the creativity
Cons: working weekends
A typical day involves food preparation and guest interaction. I learned how to cook and prepare food for large volume sales. I like the fact the managemet team has allowed me to be in cooking competitions and assist inthe development of menus. The hardest partof the job is when you can't always keep up with guest demand on the food. However, it is – more... quickly refilled with minimal waiting times. In a perfect world, a guest would never wait but unfortunately life isn't perfect and there are occasions where it is virtually impossible to be perfect. – less

Caesars Windsor is a good source of employment for local individuals.
Hotel Operations Manager (Former Employee), Windsor, ONSeptember 16, 2013
Pros: caesars windsor provided a cafeteria for team members.
Cons: cafeteria charged team members for their food which resulted in a negative for many of the team.
On a daily basis, I worked hard to bring groups into the casino. Motor coach groups were very important to our business and we had to be creative and competitive in our offerings to this group.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They assisted our guests in every way possible.

One of my tasks was to meet with and showcase our convention centre to – more... perspective clients for social events such as weddings, conventions and meetings.

The Executive Staff held weekly meetings with their team to discuss and add support to our many tasks. – less

Caesar Windsor
Finance Supervisor (Former Employee), Windsor, ONJune 19, 2013
Pros: periodic employee appreciation days
Cons: adjusting to your weekend being anything than saturday and sunday
I learned patience to go along with my need to seek a better way of doing my job. Since we are regulated by the Government not too many adjustments could be made, but they would listen and then tell you why some things were not open to adjustment. Being middle management you learn more about team work and how you and your co-workers can assist each – more... other to finish each shift on schedule, The hardest part of the job was adjusting to working a steady midnight shift. Enjoyment with the job came when interacting with patrons and assisting them to an enjoyable visit to the Casino. – less

Concierge (Former Employee), Windsor, ONMay 22, 2013
I would handle between 50 and 100 calls per 8 hour shift, while talking to guests in person and dealing with front desk, bell staff and coat check staff. During all this, I would be verifying employee hours for payroll, issuing keys to guests, checking rooms for cleanliness. It was a fast paced work environment that required strong multi-tasking skills – more... as well as working with little or no supervision (often I was the only management there for the whole hotel). – less

My Casino Windsor over all experience.
Room/ Laundry Attendant (Former Employee), Windsor, ONMarch 30, 2013
Pros: good money, good benefits, much experience.
Cons: my time spent in finance i felt guilty counting money spent on gambling.
Since the age of 13 of been in the work field, my last 15 years at Caesars (Casino) Windsor has given much experience working with the public. From 7 1/2 years in finance balancing daily transactions was great, I enjoyed the everyday challenge it gave me.

Being a trainer from the beginning led me to a trainers course. On to 7 1/2 years in the Hotel area – more... opened up a whole new experience, that I never thought I would enjoy as much as I did.I have to say that Housekeeping was my favorite job,but not as challenging as being a banker. Also got to learn some Hotel auditing which I loved, but was only temporary while the new laundry room was being built, and took night classes in Word and Excel.

I received 2 employees of the month while I was employed at Casino Windsor, one as a Pit Clerk for excellent accuracy, and the other in Housekeeping for working well with others and having a positive attitude. 3 You take the Lead, coming up with ideas that were used in the Hotel area.

In 2009 I took a buy out, I now volunteer my time at the Royal Canadian Legion as Bulletin editor, Public Relations, and website co-ordinator, and now working on editing a booklet for a convention. Also I have designed 6 new websites for companies, and love making posters, business cards, flyers, and logos for people.

Working with Seniors is wonderful, which is one of the reasons why I joined the Royal Canadian Legion 6 years a go.My caring for Seniors since I volunteered many years ago at Metropolitan Hospital Chronic Care, has stayed with me and I love being around them. – less

SECURITY AND DISPATCH OFFICER (Former Employee), Windsor, ONSeptember 24, 2012
Pros: the people
Cons: the hours
A typical day at work for me would be to greet and assist our diverse clientel and respond to occurences within the facility. I was also responsible for assigning duties to fellow officers as needed. I would lias with other departments and agencies on a daily basis.

The people I worked with were fantastic and I would have to say was the main reason – more... I stayed at the casino as long as I did.

The hardest part of the job was the hours. After 13 years of service my days off were Wed/Thurs steady midnight shift which was tough on family life.

The most enjoyable part of my job was bieng able to help people and working with my colleagues. – less

A very challenging place to work with several opportunities
Table Game Floor Supervisor (Former Employee), Windsor, ONSeptember 14, 2012
Pros: the opportunity to get trained for new positions.
Cons: dealing with people who lose money, working long hours and every holiday.
A typical day at Caesars was very challenging. Everyday was very different. You were dealing with over 1000 staff to supervised plus 1000s of customers. The customer service was the key to success. The job was very diversified with many changes on a daily basis. This company gave me the opportunity to learn and be trained with many management and leadership – more... programs. There was quite a bit of knowledge that we were trained for management and union. Co-workers were either very negative or very positive.. My job was to maintain a good balanced day. The most enjoyable part of the job was i love new challenges and being trained . – less
