Engineering Services Architect (Former Employee), Islandia, NY – December 12, 2013
Cons: new management
Typical day with my role was to deal with all departments from development, QA, and pre-sales, account teams for clients, etc.... Worked on the latest software we created and delivered this to clients in person. Built a relationship with client and took their feedback to development which analyzed feedback for next product release. Learned the way a – more... huge professional fortune 500 company works. How different departments deal with each other, the politics of doing business. Learned many aspects when dealing with clients and co-workers and management. – less
Project Manager (Current Employee), Greenville, SC – November 26, 2013
Pros: get to work from home, benefits are one of the best
Cons: not enough face to face time with co workers, long wait time for increase in salary
I have been with the company for 13 years. Since I have been here I have met great friends and Co-workers. The opportunity for growth is excellent if you have the Go-Getter attitude. Even though this is big company spread all over the world no matter who you talk to within the company you get the at home/family feel. I have started off as an Administrative – more... Assistant and have worked myself into the Role of a Project Manager. Management is open for suggetions. – less
Senior QA (Former Employee), North Ryde – October 30, 2013
Pros: good work place
Cons: management always changing deckchairs
They bend over backwards to keep people culturally happy. Bit light on payrises. Management are trigger happy with cutting staff to boost the bottom line. Presently making a massive move employing people from India. (Less money to pay). But i was happy enough there.
IT management (Current Employee), Framingham, MA – October 15, 2013
CA Technologies a company that fosters innovation. During the 3 years I've worked for this organization I have had the opportunity to work with cross functional teams to advance corporate sustainability initiatives. With this cooperation we managed to make significant progress in this area.
CA Technologies is a solid organization with a culture rooted in the Mainframe way of doing business. While they recognize the need to change and are making tremendous effort to do so, that same culture seems to resist efforts to reinvent the organization. The common joke internally is if you ask somebody what time it is they provide you with a link – more... to a clock making site.
I am hopeful they will succeed in their efforts, but after almost three years I recognize my drive and ambition can better serve an organization that offers disruptive yet relevant solutions to the needs of both present and anticipated market demands.
The best thing I learned at CA was how to effectively prospect and find new opportunities and improve my skills with SFDC.
My co-workers were bright, astute and hardworking.
The hardest part of the job was finding solid new opportunities only to watch them get lost in the execution stage. – less
Teacher (Former Employee), Islandia, NY – October 2, 2013
Pros: doing exactly what i have wanted to do for many years.
Cons: working part-time
I worked as a Teacher in the Montessori Child Development Center at CA Technologies whereby there was a definitive schedule/routine every day. All of my co-workers were friendly, compassionate and encouraging for the children in our care. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to see children reach goals and the pride that they cannot contain. – more... A perfect day would be whereby a teacher can sit back and really observe what work a child has chosen and how they prepare themselves to complete a task, using different approaches. The job was very fulfilling, however, CA had initially hired me part-time, I was the low man on the totem pole and after working there for 1 1/2 years, I needed a full time position. – less
