The Literacy Facilitator is responsible for facilitating a positive, safe and effective literacy program for CEDA Pathways to Education youth and work with volunteer tutors. The aim of the literacy program is to support the development of effective study skills in literacy. Current curriculum knowledge of Lanaguage Arts and Literacy Grades 9-12. Specifice training/experience in special needs of new language learners. Knowledge of high school culture and credit system. Knowledge of social needs of youth, groups skills and group dynamics. The ability to facilitate youth ages 13-18 year. Experience working in low income, newcomer and Aboriginal comunities especially with youth. Hours: late afternoons to early evening, Part-time (19.5 hours per week) term until June 30, 2013. The closing date is Nov. 13 @ 5pm please include a cover letter and resume.
