· Read and interpret blue prints, sketches, and drawing specifications
· Fit and Tack weldments as per drawings
· Weld fabrications as per drawing
· Inspects work in progress and upon completion for adherence to drawing specifications
· Verify dimensions of fabrications for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
· Adhere to CWB procedures
· Work in a safe manner according to the Occupational Health and Safety
· Strive for continuous improvement.
· Other duties as required

Welding Techniques:

Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) (MIG), Flux core arc welding (FCAW)

Specific Skills:

Interpret welding process specifications, Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal, Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Determine weldability of materials, Spray welds, Select filler rods, Perform post welding heat treatment, Operate hoisting and lifting equipment, Prepare jigs or set-ups for welding, Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products

Position Requirements:

· Completion of Welding apprenticeship program or possess a CWB certificate preferred
· Physical demands require the ability to handle weights up to 25 kg (55 pounds)
· Be familiar with technical requirements, welding machine set-up and maintenance
