Several Contract Positions, 6 Months contract, Fort McMurray-Alberta, Canada (0113-A)

Must have a minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical/Piping Coordinator (Furnaces, Vessels, Drums, Piping, Components and Welding). Must have trade experience as a Foreman, GF, Superintendent, must have trade certificates: Pipe/Steam Fitter, Boiler Maker, Journeyman, Welder.

– Turnaround/Maintenance Coordinator: Reporting to the Manager, the primary role of the Coordinator is to facilitate the removal of road blocks and support the process to allow contractor work crews to maximize wrench time. Each coordinator is also responsible to update progress daily for Primavera, bring scope changes resulting from field activity (i.e. rework, found work) to management, coordinate and liaise with planning to modify plan and schedule, and coordinate and liaise with the execution team at the Superintendent and Area Manager level.

Pre-Turnaround/Shutdown

1. Audit/Review Scope & Material
a. Follow Execution Scope Review Process (Work list, field copies, field checks, detailed package review, approve IFC transmittal to GC)
b. Verify scope is relevant and executable
c. Walk down job locations with GC Supervision
d. Report all scope and material discrepancies to Lead Mechanical Coordinator
2. Audit/Review Schedule
a. Verify logic linking
b. Verify resources and durations
c. Determine priorities
d. Report all Schedule discrepancies to Lead Mechanical Coordinator
3. Ensure safety, quality, and budget has been considered
4. Review Lessons Learned for implementation

Turnaround/Shutdown

1. Liaise with Coordinators for the following disciplines:

  • Crane Department (Timing, placement, sizing, lifting devices, set up)
  • Scaffolders (Builds, modifications, tear downs)
  • Insulators (Location and extent of removal)
  • Instrumentation (Disconnects)
  • Temp Power (Lighting and power requirements)
  • Materials (Staging and shortages)
  • Subcontractors (Mobilizing, gate passes)

2. Manage and Update the 36 Hour Look-a-Head schedule (Adjustments via Lead Coordinator)
3. Report all Found Work and Scope Change to Lead Mechanical Coordinator
4. Assist with organization/tracking/execution of punch items (GC list and PSSR list)
5. ILP contributions (Initiation and investigation)
6. Contribute to meetings (Turnover/Execution/Update meetings, Risk Reviews and HAZOPs)

Post Turnaround & Closeout

1. Ensure an active roll in LCP
2. Ensure Post-Turnaround work is completed safely and efficiently
3. Ensure all equipment has been demobilized
4. Ensure surplus material and tools are identified and stored/returned
5. Provide documented Lessons Learned for review

**Previous Experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas Industry is preferred, Must be qualified to work in Canada
