CAPP is looking for a technical web specialist to join a fast-paced team of professionals that manage a variety of stakeholder, public, media and government relations issues and projects on behalf of the upstream petroleum industry. This is a full time position.
You are an innovative team player; possess first-rate web skills and is a strategic thinker; has an advanced knowledge of social media tools, web-editing software and is comfortable with technology. You are an expert in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies. You are an expert in Sharepoint, WordPress and other CMS platforms. You command a wide range of communication and technical skills to both write and publish on the web, including experience with image editing tools like Photoshop and Illustrator, video editing skills, and writing skills. You must be comfortable managing online discussion forums, blogs and our Member Services extranet. You are comfortable working with consultants and managing major online web projects.
Further to the above skill set, we are looking for a person who is an established member of the Facebook and Twitter community with experience in strategically pushing out information through both platforms. An understanding of FBML and Facebook Page applications is preferred. Additionally, the successful candidate is familiar with LinkedIn, YouTube, Issuu, SlideShare and other social media tools and can integrate these tools into an overarching web strategy.
As the successful candidate, you will work with CAPP’s full communications team; reporting to the Manager, Campaigns. Your role’s focus will be web tactics. This includes:
- daily maintenance of CAPP’s websites;
- monitoring and analysis of web analytics;
- working with graphics, images and video for web delivery;
- ability to troubleshoot any reported problems or issues on CAPP’s websites or social media;
- assisting with ongoing design of CAPP’s information architecture (internally and externally);
- assisting the communications team in implementing CAPP’s web communications strategy;
- assisting, and often leading, the communications team in any technology or web related projects;
- participating, and often leading, in on-going redevelopment of CAPP websites;
- creating social media policies;
- developing web content;
- managing CAPP’s extranet “MemberNet”;
- acting as support and back-up for the Advisor, Digital Communications (Social Media).
A background in the petroleum sector is preferred, but not required. You have 5 years of related experience and a communications degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
