C.B.I Consultants is currently recruiting for 2 Full time Employment Specialist’s to
work as part of our Customized Employment team. One position is full time the other is a maternity leave
position and is a temporary one year contract position. Start date to be
The Employment Specialist will do all aspects of the customized employment program during each year for a caseload of 20 or more individuals who have a range of disabilities. Phases of the customized employment process performed will include screening, discovery, job coaching, job development monitoring and crisis supports where required. The Employment Specialist is responsible for report writing, tracking outcomes and providing information as required by C.B.I. Consultants and our contractors. The Employment Specialist works collaboratively with the C.B.I. team to assist in the development of C.B.I.’s Customized Employment program. Area of work includes the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Regions.
Some of the key duties and responsibilities are but not limited to,
1 Review pool of individuals.
2 Get all necessary diagnostic documentation & Participant Intake Form signed.
3 Support individuals in real work for real pay in integrated work settings that is:
a Full time (30 hours or more per week): or
b Part time (more than 4, less than 30 hours per week); or
c Self employment.
That lasts a minimum of 3 months from “Employment Placement”.
4 Perform Discovery for each individual who meets eligibility. (approximately 2 per month)
5 Where appropriate, conduct Situational Assessment (environmental assessment, on-the-job evaluation).
6 Summarize Discovery findings into a Vocational Profile that sets out Ideal Conditions of Employment.
7 Conduct an Employment Planning meeting with the individual.
8 Engage in Job Development for each individual.
9 Provide on the work site Job Coaching and make modifications and adaptations that support the individual and meet the needs of the employer.
10 Transition to natural supports in the work place.
11 Monitor and complete Service Quality Indicators with Individual and Employer:
a Monthly for first year of employment
b At least yearly thereafter.
12 Send out Satisfaction Surveys for the Customer and the Employer at 3 months, 6 months and yearly.
13 Compile information for quarterly and yearly reports that are sent to MHSD/CLBC in the correct format and before the due date.
14 Work collaboratively with teams externally and internally within CBI.
15 Present some of the CE and other practical training sessions for agencies/families/teams at the CBI office.
16 Participate in information nights for families/individuals.
17 Pass Knowledge Criterion as set out by CBI Consultants.
18 Pass Demonstration Criterion as set out by CBI Consultants.
19 Other duties as required.
