A typical day at work in the Human Resources Department in the School District is all about customer service and helping others. I prepare benefit packages, contract packages, I review them and do the follow up before sending to payroll for processing. I answer questions to new applicants and guide them through the hiring process. I create new files in the data system for the new hires entering all their personal information, certifications and qualifications for the job. I maintain several spread sheets about job assignments and contracts. I assist the Senior HR Advisor with the new hires, new applications. I may also help with the dispatch desk and main switchboard.
I have learned to work independently and to form excellent working relationships with Administration, staff and teachers. I have learned to be tactful and patient with all types of inquiries and situations that the employees may have.
The hardest part of my job is being able to help our staff in a timely manner while ensuring the efficient operation of the office.
The most enjoyable part of my job is getting to meet people and being able to assist them.
