A Great Learning Experience
Cashier (Current Employee), Brampton, ONAugust 28, 2014
Pros: employee discount on meals
Cons: inflexible working hours
Burger King is a fast food restaurant which means that everything moves at a fast pace on a typical working day. This restaurant has enhanced my ability to work in a team. All of the employees get a long well which makes working efficiently a lot easier. The managers ensure that each employee is at their work station and that they are doing what they – more... need to be doing. Personally, the hardest part of the job is also the most enjoyable for me which is making sure that customers get what the service they want. Every customer is different, and sometimes they have to be serviced differently. We aim to allow every customer to "have it their way". I've also learned to have patience, to be energetic and to smile throughout my work because if a customer sees how much I love what I do, then they will love the service they're receiving. – less

Crew member originally and promoted to Supervisor (Former Employee), Edmonton, ABAugust 14, 2014
Pros: discounts
Cons: unstable management
Cleaning, making product, dealing with customers and the heat. Management did not care about the staff - only management. Co-workers were great. Hardest part was dealing with the mechanical errors and scheduling errors. My one store went through 4 managers which also made it difficult

Cook (Former Employee), Guelph, ONJuly 15, 2014
Pros: great employers
Cons: low wages/ not enough hours
I would unload and load the truck with produce. I also cooked for customers.
I learnt how to work as a team and under pressure
Management was alright but no one liked their job so it wasn't as fun as it could have been.
Hardest part was week day specials. There would also be a massive rush in those times and orders would be mixed up.
The people made – more... the job, besides the managers and supervisors. – less

Fun crew to work with, not so fun place to be
cashier (Former Employee), London OnJuly 13, 2014
Pros: fun employees
Cons: almost everything else
Overall Burger King was an interesting place to be, new people every day and you various amounts of struggles. Shift planning was never very well planned and we were always under staffed during the day and over staffed at night, causing a lot of cuts. for several months id work the day shifts, often being on my own causing me to learn a bit faster than – more... most other people. Over the course of a few months we went through several managers, which made keeping a solid work structure difficult at times. I eventually left due to having only 4-5 shifts within a 2 month period and them refusing to transfer me or give me more shifts. – less

Cashier and Food Preparation (Current Employee), Surrey, BCJuly 11, 2014
Pros: free food
Cons: very hot inside
I usually worked on drive thru. it has taught me to work in a fast pace environment. I've learned how to work with money and gained excellent communication skills and how to interact with my customers. A typical day would consist of taking the customers order.cashing them out . bagging their food and also some cleaning duties such as dishes and cleaning – more... the lobby. management was always helpful and my co-workers were usually happy and positive.the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting different kinds of people everyday and seeing my return customers. – less

Fast pace and busy place with lots of food!
Team Member (Current Employee), Toronto, ONJune 9, 2014
Pros: positive working environment
A typical day at work starts 12 and ends at 7. I take many orders, serve customers along with that I maintain a safe and cleaning dining environment. I learned that there many different coupons customers bring so I have to learn where all the coupons are on our system. The management helps regulate the rules and procedures at work by ensuring that we – more... follow all the guidelines. My co-workers are very hardworking and always have a smile on their face at work. The hardest part of the job is literally nothing, everything has become easy for me over the course of time! The most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with customers because I love talking and also I love to help people so this is what I enjoy the most at work. – less
