Fast paced retail environment working with children and families
Retail (Current Employee), Kitchener, ON – November 1, 2012
Pros: positive environment
Cons: limited hours
I enjoy Build a Bear very much because of the day to day interaction with children and their families. It can be challenging as I often have large groups of children with multiple demands. The look on their faces is my reward. My co-workers are great. We have a lot of fun and great teamwork. The management at Build a Bear is very supportive and helpful – more... when I have questions. – less

Rewarding Workplace
Bear Builder (Former Employee), Glendale, AZ – April 28, 2013
Pros: discount and making children happy
Cons: not so great pay, for the hard work you do.
Depending on which store you are working at it could be great, I loved working there and seeing the smiles on childrens faces every day, working there taught me how to work with children better.

Productive, fast pace fun environment
Bear Builder (Current Employee), South Portland, ME – April 2, 2013
Pros: ive learned and grown in many ways. this job motivates me. managment is amazing.
Cons: i wish i could be there everyday and i can't
A typical day at work varies. Sometime we are very busy sometime we are very slow. Usually Im where a floor leader says I am needed or floating making sure every station is covered and customers are being helped. My co- workers make my workplace a much better place to be. You can't possibly want to go to work when your feeling out of place. The hardest – more... part of my job is really coming out of my bubble and just being completely fun and outrageous in front of tons of people. Like getting up and dancing in front of thirty people. Another hard part would be the first time a deaf girl and her hearing sisters came in to make special bears, The girls mother was present who was also deaf, so to work with these girls and come up with something quick so i could see her smile because she was understanding everything I was saying or doing during the special heart ceremony. I don't have a favorite part about my job, Its all amazing. – less

Assistant Manager
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Livingston, NJ – February 20, 2013
Pros: close to home
Cons: very slow business
It was a job that I needed at the time and I was not very happy in that company. There were only 2 employees and was not fast paced enough for me. It was a start up company that went bankrupt.

Sales Associate (Former Employee), Houston, TX – January 3, 2013
Pros: na
Cons: na
Started my day stuffing bears and worked the cash register as needed. I learned a lot of new spanish words from tourists visiting from other countries. The management was poor, but i absolutely loved my co-workers. The most enjoyable part of working there was seeing little kids smile, and learning spanish. the hardest part was dealing with management.

Fun, outgoing, playful workplace
Assistant Manager (Current Employee), Fayetteville, NC – October 1, 2012
Pros: company values and trusts their employees
Cons: having to lead group interviews on a weekly basis
Having fun at work is a requirement. Actually engaging with our guests and having a conversation to get to know them is the normal day. We also get to play with them all over the store in order to provide a wonderful and memorable experience. The hardest part of the job is keeping up your energy level when you are almost spent. As a manager it is my – more... job to make sure my bearbuilders are doing well and are feeding off my energy to ensure the guests are having a good time. – less

Sales Associate (Current Employee), New York, NY – June 17, 2012
Pros: working with people who are always will to teach and learn.
Cons: i enjoyed my overall experience
A regular day od work would consist of, review sales goals, which prode=uct are selling which ones need more of. What upcoming events mean for business. Learning the skills of going ahead of the game to prepare for what might happen ad will happen. Great staff , teaching and grasping skills from one another, always an oppourtunity to progress and imporve. – more... The most enjoyable part of the job would be working with customers and figuring out how to expand our demographic and improviing how we serve our current customer base. – less

ambiente de trabajo sin etica
Anfitriona (Former Employee), Saltillo, COA – January 10, 2013
