Actuarial Retirement Intern (Former Employee), Houston, TXNovember 13, 2013
A typical day at Buck Consultants was working on various projects with multiple clients. This allowed me to learn a lot about different types of actuarial work in the consulting space.

Sr. Administrative Assistant (Current Employee), Atlanta, GAOctober 17, 2013
Pros: flexible work schedule
Cons: dealing with parent company
Never know what the day will bring ... instant deadlines, etc.
Learned a lot about employee benefits, putting proposals together, consulting environment
Management used to be great; being bought by a big company changed the culture
Many co-workers have left
Hardest part of the job is dealing with multiple personalities

Wonderful Place To Work.
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Chicago, ILMay 14, 2013
Pros: excellent benefits
Cons: mergered with xerox company (downsized)
Everyday was a learning experience with different challenges and risks.

Management and co-workers were interesting individuals with different type of backgrounds from other companies to do the work.

The hardest part of the job would be lots of deadlines to meet with a short time span.

What I enjoyed most of this job is that with different backgrounds – more... and race you learn a lot from them professionally as well as personally. – less

All Consuming Job that Doesn't Allow for Much Work Life Balance
Retirement - Actuarial (Current Employee), Atlanta, GAJune 5, 2012
The stress of taking actuarial exams while working full time makes for a challenging experience. My coworkers are fairly young but it's very male dominated. Management doesn't seem to care much about exam progress, but more about the ability to get work done. However, company policy won't allow you to be hired without at least one actuarial exam passed.
