The IT Technician / Network Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and repair for computers and/or peripheral devices to customers and end-users. As required, the candidate will be required to travel onsite to provide service to small-medium sized businesses and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing installation, operation, maintenance, upgrades, resolution of hardware and software issues, monitoring of traffic, system backup and user training (as needed) for end users or staff in a corporate environment.

Installing or coordinating installation of network hardware including servers, software for use with personal computers and mainframe (servers)/personal computer interaction, and network upgrades according to instructions of clients.

Configuring, upgrading, maintaining equipment with assistance from vendor or other computing resources.

Preparing and maintaining procedure manuals and documentation for internal use.

Maintaining a reference library to include reference manuals and user guides.

Maintaining accurate records of equipment serial numbers, service records, maintenance agreements, warranties, wiring schemes and network problems and solutions.

Developing, implementing, participating, and testing a network disaster recovery plan.

Resolving all connectivity and internal technical problems and assisting in training users to use the network and related software.

Skills and Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities:

A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a IT environment (help desk or local server administration)
A+ certification
Network+ certification
Experience and knowledge in the following areas: (Active Directory, Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Hardware & Software VPNs, VM Ware, linux)
A commitment to exceptional service
Is up to date with current and emerging technologies
Excellent active listening, administrative and organization skills are essential.
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills.
