Production Supervisor –Exterior Finish Department
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Production Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and supervision in the efficient operation of the Exterior production areas; safely achieving required production schedules, quotas, and quality standards.
Summary of Responsibilities:
*Develop and maintain positive employee relations by interpreting and consistently applying company policies and practices across the work group, while recognizing, understanding and valuing employee differences.
*Identify potential/current work issues and resolve them in an appropriate and timely manner.
*Participate in employee selection activities and train new and existing employees on construction best practices and company policies.
*Ensure that individual and team roles and responsibilities are understood and that performance measurement objectives are identified, measured, achieved and improved upon. Provide positive feedback on accomplishments and ensure immediate corrective action is taken to address shortfalls.
*Supervise all aspects of the production process within job scope in a manner that minimizes inventory and overtime, optimizes productivity and controls operating expenses.
*Create material take-offs and secure competitive pricing with suppliers based on production drawings and specs provided.
*Implement and maintain production related schedules for assigned area coordinating utilization of equipment, material and staff resources.
*Identify and recommend production improvement strategies that enhance equipment and worker performance, efficiency and product quality.
*Provide development opportunities for high potential team members in the form of added responsibility, cross training assignments, or external training.
*Responsible for effectively managing sub-contractors when required and ensuring they comply with company requirements, timelines, safety and quality standards.
*Liaise with the Design department to help ensure drawings include the appropriate detail
*3-5 years supervisory experience
*10+ years of hands-on construction experience
*Able to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
*Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
