Temporary Home Visitation Programs Family Support Worker Position,
Covering maternity leaves
35 hrs/week
Wage $18.00 per hour with 6% vacation pay

This position will provide information, support and service coordination to mothers who are pregnant and/or have children birth to six years, and their families. Applicants must be highly motivated, energetic, have strong organization and communication skills and be able to work both independently and part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Applicants must have:

  • A diploma or degree in a related Human Service Field, a Child and Youth Care Certificate or three years related experience in a Human Service Field.
  • Experience in family support practice.
  • A valid driver’s license, daily use of an insured (1 million liability) and registered vehicle for business purposes and an acceptable driver’s record, as verified by a Driver’s Abstract.
  • Acceptable Criminal Records Check and Child Intervention Records Check

An understanding of the diversity, customs and traditions of Aboriginal peoples and diverse multi-cultural populations is considered an asset. Knowledge of pregnancy care and child development is also considered an asset.

Travel is required for this position. Mileage is reimbursed for employment related travel.
