Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation (BCSCF) pioneered an innovative, integrated “whole person care” approach in breast cancer supportive care. It is the first model of care of its kind in Canada wherein programs are designed to help breast cancer patients and their families in Southern Alberta receive seamless care from diagnosis and treatment options to healthy living and wellness.
This new position will report directly to the Executive Director. The Marketing and Fund Development Coordinator is a highly motivated and experienced individual who will contribute to the development and implementation of the Foundation’s revenue generation and marketing plan, looking at increasing revenue through grants, donations, special events and building greater awareness of BCSCF. The Coordinator will be responsible for working with the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee to develop a plan to increase our external funding sources and will be responsible for implementing this plan. The ultimate goal will be to increase the external funding base to support the Foundation’s strategic goal of sustaining and growing the centre of excellence in breast cancer supportive care to individuals and their families in Southern Alberta.
Primary responsibilities
Develop and implement our annual, major and planned giving programs
Develop and coordinate special events, including BCSCF’s annual Fashion With Compassion fundraising gala, with a strong focus on developing corporate sponsorship
Manage the grant application process, which includes completing grant applications, follow up reporting as well as researching new grant opportunities
Work with the Executive Director, Fund Development Committee and Board of Directors to identify new contacts, focusing on growing the donor base and major gift giving
Oversee the relationship management and growth of individual, corporate, organization and foundation donors
Implement and coordinate donor recognition strategies/events
Develop and implement a strong marketing and communications program.
Perform additional functions as required
Skills and qualifications:
An undergradute degree or equivalent post-secondary qualifications preferred
Three to five years directly related experience preferred
Superior organization and time management skills
A high degree of self-motivation and business acumen
Demonstrated superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong presentation skills and experience
Excellent interpersonal skills, colllaborative team player able to build harmonious working relationships
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and databases
High standard of ethical behaviour aligned with the values of the Foundation
Flexibility in work hours
