Production Manager

  • Builds a competent team by meeting with employees & communicating performance expectations; * Insures all production, quality, health & safety & waste product targets are met or exceeded; * Maintains Production Supervisors’ shift schedules * Oversees the Maintenance of the line production schedule & arranges adjustments in production as needed; * Manages production operations, including monitoring work & training/coaching supervisory staff in existing & new procedures; * Track production performance, assuring GMP, quality & health & safety standards are being met; * Ensures that the plant is operating to standards & performs spot checks on processes; * Inspect operating machinery & equipment periodically to insure that is running safely and according to specifications; * Ensures the plant meets all government, customer & third party audit requirements; * Maintains the cleanliness & general condition of the plant including air quality & pest control to required standards; * Develops & maintains a cleaning schedule that uses the principles of HACCP & BRC * Monitors all sanitation complaints & rectifies problems as appropriate; * Develops & communicates internal procedures for sanitation & contributes to successful implementation; * Participates in the development of the annual department budget & strategic long term planning; and * Continuously improves operations (i.e. waste reduction & product quality) to maximize profit & minimize costs.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in manufacturing environment; * Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, * Familiarity with highly automated process/packaging technology is an asset; * Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team; * Knowledge of GMP,HCAP & BRC, a definite asset; * Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; * Working knowledge of MS word, Excel and Outlook would be beneficial; and * Flexibility and availability for shift work is required, including weekends.
