POSITION: TEMPORARY PART-TIME FINANCIAL ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE (PAYROLL)
POSTING DATE: JUNE 2013
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Financial Assistant is responsible for the accurate completion of payroll, accounts payable and accounting duties as assigned. Also responsible for monthly and yearly closing processes, account analysis and special projects.
*data entry and processing of biweekly payroll
*preparation and processing of payments and remittances
*maintenance of employee files
*reconciliation and analysis of account
The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:
*Secondary School diploma required,
*2 year Business Diploma - Accounting from a Community College would be an asset.
*Mandatory Certification - OHA Fundamental Accounting preferred
Cognitive Skill Requirements:
*payroll certification or experience preferred
*accounts payable and general ledger knowledge and experience preferred
*Experience with OHIP billings an asset
*Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
*Understanding of MIS Guidelines an asset
*Medical terminology an asset
Technical Skill Requirements:
*Experience with Quadrant and Meditech Software preferred
*Excellent computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Accounting, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
*High level of speed and accuracy in data entry is required due to volumes processed
*Excellent communication and customer service skills required
*Ability to function in a fast paced environment, and able to adapt to change
