Reporting to the Coordinator of The Infinity Project, The Community Support Worker will support homeless youth (16-24) to find permanent housing. In this case management position, building relationships with each youth is essential as Workers are responsible to identify the appropriate amount of support each youth needs to remain housed and reach the other goals the youth has set. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures that youth know and have access to the tools needed to explore their own culture if desired by the youth
  • Recognizes the importance of family in each youth’s life and therefore ensures the inclusion of appropriate family members in goal planning
  • Encourage and assist youth to develop skills needed to attain self-sufficiency by helping them to set and achieve their goals and ensure that goals are monitored on a monthly basis in a one-to-one format
  • Provides a safe environment for youth to be able to discuss their goals and concerns openly and assists youth in finding and accessing counseling and support in the community
  • Assists youth in developing problem solving, conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Supports youth in reducing barriers to employment and education
  • Support the youth as they move into housing by modeling organizational skills and being available to facilitate moving
  • Responsible for the case management of youth, ensuring all basic needs and programming expectations are being fulfilled while fostering personal; growth and development
  • Assists youth with meal planning, shopping and meal preparation and ensures the youth develop and maintain healthy eating habits
  • Assist youth in learning household management skills, such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, budgeting and yard work when applicable
  • Organizes celebrations for youth including birthdays, religious holidays, graduation, etc
  • Assists youth with acquiring required identification and bank accounts
  • Acts as a liaison between families, social service agencies, school representatives, doctors and other professionals involved with the youth
  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with external agencies/groups such as community associations, landlords, schools, law enforcement and social service agencies


  • Degree or Diploma in Human Services with two years experience working with youth or homeless populations
  • Class 5 Drivers License, with a reliable vehicle
  • Cleared Drivers Abstract and Liability Insurance
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Cleared Criminal check with vulnerable search sector and Child Welfare Intervention check
