Good Management and excellent staff with a fun and honest work culture
Senior Data Entry Clerk (Former Employee) – Burlington, ON – 2 March 2016
Training was thorough and management were fair. Hours are typical business hours and the project management were extremely detailed and flexible to accommodate the needs of the company as well as the staff.
Private Banking Officer (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 25 November 2016
My experience with BMO Private Banking was not a long one, by any stretch.
To their credit work-life balance is more than reasonable. They are reasonable when it comes to terms with family expectations and educational pursuits. Additionally BMO as a whole has a great compensation package, salary and benefits included, and Private Banking is not an exception to that.
With that said the management leaves a tremendous amount to be desired. There is a complete lack of consistency, communication issues, and no training program in place for any role. Expectations change on a regular basis.
Add to this a culture of negativity and I sought employment elsewhere.
Sr. Premier Banker (Current Employee) – Evanston, NS – 22 February 2016
BMO Harris Bank is a company that does balance work and home life very well. The salary is great and the benefits are good as well. However it seems sometimes that upper management is not sure where to take this company. The future of my current line of business is in question and people cannot get straight answers regarding the future of our jobs. Technology is behind big time as well as products. There needs to be one solid message from the top down and right now all the lines of business are working against each other instead of with.
IT Consultant (Current Employee) – North York ,ON – 13 November 2014
I have worked here twice and I have nothing but good things to say about the BMO team. For me, the commute here is pure agony just due to it's location. While it's on the subway line it takes forever to get there from downtown Toronto.
Senior Service Representative (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 21 June 2013
Overall, a good working experience. Day to day work was fairly challenging, and working directly with clients gave a sense of satisfaction. However, as is the case with all major Canadian banks these days, job security is a major issue.
Challenging work, good atmosphere, great work/life balance.
Constantly changing management, no input in any decision-making.
