Fun yet extremely demanding
Sales Assoc (Current Employee), Houston, TX – May 14, 2013
Pros: travel, benefits
Cons: high turnover
Management was more like dictatorship. Fun interacting with customers and great to see smiles on faces when you sell to them. VERY "what have you done for me LATELY?" style business

Worst Place to Work
Dev (Former Employee), boca raton – April 25, 2013
Pros: no pros
Cons: jus idiotic behavious all the way to management
Dirty Politics and Idiotic rules...no common sense no work sense...the worst company I have worked for. My manager was a lady and head of Business Intelligence Team n she is not worth the position she was given. She is not even worthy as an intern

An there is an other lady..head of Informatica..she is an other puppet jus plays to the tunes of this – more... other manager.

Better stay away from IT they are the most egoistic individuals i have associated with – less

Stressful
Sales Representative (Former Employee), Orlando, FL – March 25, 2013
Pros: incentives
Cons: lag time...
If you don't meet the numbers you are out
Management loves you while you sell high and let's you know you are not an asset if numbers are low
Co-workers are not your friends as everyone is out to make a sale
hardest part of vacation sales is pricing
Most enjoyable & easiest part of vacation sales is letting a customer know the value of vacations & time – more... with family – less

Ok company to work for. When I worked for Bluegreen Corp. the company was not doing great. Unfortunate, the terrorrist attack happened while I was working there and they had to laid off over 30 employees. Great people

Data Processor (Former Employee), Boca Raton, FL – February 5, 2013
Pros: good benefits
Cons: compensation is not good, you have to work your butt off and they gave terrible raises every year
Had major issues with a certain Supervisor, took it to HR got absolutely nowhere as HR was on managements side the whole time I felt very disliked, mistreated and disrespected and it still affects me until this very day! I even got accused of doing things I did not do! Management always sticks together even when they are in the wrong. Supervisors treat – more... the ppl they're buddy buddy with better. An unfair place to work indeed! Managers and Supervisors need professional training there! – less

Under appreciated and not respected
Receptionist- Auditor (Former Employee), Gatlinburg, TN – February 2, 2013
I was in the marketing department, so how I feel is based solely on that area and is not a reflection on their product. You are considered seasonal while working 40 hr weeks. Employees never receive raises. Loyal, hard-working employees of 5 years can't get taken care of. In my time here, I've never seen such a turn over rate. You either have to transfer – more... departments or quit altogether. Managers criticize, but never encourage. I waited and paid my dues and showed my worth and professionalism...but there comes a point where you are being mistreated. – less

I grew a lot professionally in this company. It was high stress, high demand but enjoyable
Executive Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Boca Raton, FL – January 16, 2013
Pros: health insurance and yearly bonuses
Cons: too changes in management.
Busy day every day at work, I learned to organize and improved my skills in the computer. My co-workers were fun to work with. The hardest part of the job was the organizing the international meetings and getting all the members to agree of a time to meet. The most enjoyable part was the traveling.

SR VACATION SPECIALIST, INDIANAPOLIS
SR VACATION SPECIALIST (Former Employee), Indianapolis, wIn – December 15, 2012
Cons: everything is a gray area left to some shallow persons perceptions
I worked within the call center for vacation sales. I found Bluegreen to be a bias company where managers discriminate and the upper management team onsite is so disconnected they don't notice until it is to late. Senior upper management are several states away and have no idea what's going on and employees are never given their contact information. – more... If you are a young girl you will go places at this company! I do not hold that against the employees who choose to use that to their advantage. I do hold the managers accountable for their actions. The rules, policies, and management styles at this company live in a gray area, not just for employees but for the owners they are servicing too. What may work for one owner may not for the other. All depends on the agent who answers the phone, pray they had a good day or that they are not coloring or that they decide to like you because what you need from them will depend on their mood. Nothing is black and white. This is the same way they handle their employees the attendance policy is based on patterns so what may be a pattern for you may not be to the 20 year old sitting right next to you. All based on manager perception. The agents that are good are really good the bad agents are extremely bad. On a whole I consider this my career mistake and only look back to fond memories of leaving and feeling the weight on my shoulders lift and a sigh of relief fill my lungs. Never to look and say why two women one in her 20's the other in her 40's miss the same day for the same reason the one in her 20's receives nothing no occurance no warning not even noted as missing the day the one in her 40's gets an occurance and a warning for going to a family members funeral after an accidental death. Like I said all based on manager perception. I made some friends I will never forget but mostly it gave me the opportunity to wittness first hand what it felt like to be "considered" a second rate person. – less

The company was not a branded company which I was used to working for.
Sales Executive (Former Employee), Myrtle Beach, SC – December 15, 2012
Pros: great hours
Cons: my product is a luxury item
3 appointments per day
I learned to adapt to multi-faceted personalities and situations
The hardest part of the job was dealing with clients that wanted my product however did not qualify due to the economical state and credit ratings.
The most enjoyable part of my job was enhancing the lives of my clients and solving issues.

On a typical day I would meet with a few guests (1-3). I would show them the models of our resort facilities and answer any questions they have about the program.

I would not recommend Bluegreen as an employer.
Admin Asst/Mktg Coord - Assisted Promo Mgr (Former Employee), Wisconsin Dells, WI – November 29, 2012
Bluegreen is one of the few year-round employers in Wisconsin Dells, WI, a tourist town with a 12 week 'season.' As a result, compensation is below market for what would be similar positions elsewhere. Working "off the clock" is expected and, in many cases, required.

I had some good experiences at Bluegreen, but, overall, would not have worked there – more... if there had been alternatives. Ultimately, I was laid off during a Corporate downsizing.

I realize that I am 'breaking the rules' of "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything" and 'don't criticize your employers.' Unfortunately, there is more negative than positive to report. – less
