Our Toronto client, a well established construction company is looking for a Controller to add to their growing team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee entire financial strategic objectives of the organisation
  • Oversee finance staff and various operational duties
  • Financial analysis including forecasting and ongoing reporting to management
  • Manage accounting functions and ensure processing is done in a timely manner
  • Job costing, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Year-end duties
  • Work with external auditors to ensure compliance
  • Participate in the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Administrative duties such as job description, creation of policies, procedures and performance appraisal
  • Any other duties as required

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Construction industry experience
  • A Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a similar role
  • CGA or CMA designation
  • ERP or software implementation experience
  • Strong staff management skills
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to get involved and get things done
  • Previous experience managing financials for different business units
