OVERVIEW: We are currently looking for a Reconciliation Accountant who will be responsible for daily operational reconciliation of the client brokerage accounts and money movement accounts. Acting as the main point of contact for a book of corporate client brokerage accounts, the Reconciliation Accountant interacts with operational departments to ensure that all outstanding operational discrepancies are identified, reconciled and cleared.
Reconciling corporate client brokerage and bank accounts against daily trading activity to ensure funds are balanced and in line with records.
Ensuring trades are settled and that funds are disbursed within the specified timeframes.
Identifying and resolving reconciling items through interactions with operational personnel or brokerage partners, where required.
Reconciling corporate actions / events in corporate client brokerage accounts.
Determining adjustments required within the database and/or client accounts.
Communicating required adjustments to applicable individuals within the company or external parties.
Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude for technology tools.
Financial Services Operational accounting experience / background.
Post secondary diploma or degree with a concentration in finance courses.
Attention to detail.
Ability to execute and deliver to timelines yet is adaptable to meet changing priorities.
An ability to work independently, handle numerous assignments concurrently and consistently be a self-starter that excels at meeting and exceeding professional goals.
Relevant industry (technology/financial services) experience.
Previous experience in the brokerage or banking industry.
Experience or interest in forensic work.
