The Speech Language Pathologist will report to the Site Director and provide assessment, direct treatment, consultation and counselling services to the paediatric client population and their families in the delivery of evidence-based therapies.


Plans, implements, evaluates and adapts Speech-Language, goals and objectives to meet the specific needs of assigned clients, using theory, principles, best practices and treatment techniques
Preparation of written reports or the initial assessment and/or treatment plan for each client serviced
Provision of in-home and/or in-school consultations to parents and/or teachers as appropriate
Maintenance of written records of the clients’ progress during intervention in the form of a daily progress note, completed after each client contact
Assists in the clinical management and supervision of Communicative Disorder Assistant, new hires, and students completing placements
Provides individual and/or small group intervention to clients, on-site, in schools, and/or in client homes, as appropriate

Extensive knowledge of Speech-Language theory, principles, procedures and treatment techniques
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of various paediatric therapies
Sound clinical and professional judgment consistent with accepted models of practice, with demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload and adapt to a changing caseload
Excellent interpersonal skills with customer service-orientation; skilled in providing empathy, support and critical analysis in complex clinical and sensitive situations
Strong team work skills in the areas of mentoring, motivation and creative problem-solving
Maintains current knowledge of existing and emerging requirements of discipline specific standards of practice, and a solid understanding of the philosophies behind these regulations
Highly developed verbal and written communication, presentation and interviewing skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, able to be self-directed in a fast-paced, evolving working environment
Comprehensive knowledge of community resources, health agencies and social services
Proficiency using computers and various software and technologies


3+ years working as an Speech-Language Pathologist or extensive placement experience working with a paediatric population

Clinical experience in paediatric Speech and Language therapy doing assessment direct treatment and consultation, is an asset
Experience in a health services organization, supervising students and interns, is an asset

Masters degree in a Speech-Language Pathology
In good standing with the College of Speech-Language Pathology
