BLIRT (Biolab Innovative Research Technologies – http://www.blirt.eu/en/) is a European biotechnology company specializing in providing services in protein expression, organic synthesis and bioanalytical chemistry. Blirt also has a molecular biology products division, DNA-Gdansk.

BLIRT has an opening for a Protein Expression Sales Specialist, based in Quebec and responsible for Biotechnology sales in Quebec and Ontario.

This specialized, field-based, technical sales position will require in-depth technical knowledge, consultative sales techniques and sales experience to grow the sales of protein expression services within the defined territory. The Biotechnology Specialist is responsible for generating sales growth, developing and maintaining customer relationships, and supporting corporate initiatives likely in academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical accounts.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Life Science; an advanced degree is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and direct, hands-on experience in all techniques involved in protein expression services including molecular biology, protein purification and product formulation
  • Previous technical sales experience, preferably in protein expression services, along with an understanding of science, research, business, negotiation and process improvement
  • A strong network of academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and industrial accounts within the territory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of common business software (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc)
