Facility Maintenance Operations (Former Employee), Ottawa, ON – March 4, 2015
Working in the Facility Maintenance Operations, everyday had different challenges. Being proactive in finding things throughout the building that needed repair, or having to preventative maintenance checks throughout the building.
I worked as a Chief Fire Inspector and covered the Southern Ontario region
Chief Fire Inspector/Safety Officer, (Former Employee), Toronto, ON – March 20, 2013
Pros: good compancy
Cons: travelling by car
I travelled around as this was a 60% travelling job conducting Fire /Life Safety inspection on goverment buildings. I learned that travelling on the road was very time consuming planning your trip was always interesting as it never worked due to weather or accidents. I worked mostly as a independed person other co- worker were cleaners and maintance staff person. I was considered to be part of the management team and it always worked very well. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the traffic in trying to arrive on time for a meeting. The best part of the job was when you finally got to the site it seemed that you could relax and enjoyed doing your job.
Must be a Canada thing. Definitely not the case in the USA.

Job Work/Life Balance
good staff and management to work with
lead hand (Former Employee), Bowmanville, ON – July 4, 2012
Pros: safe work enviorment/great team members
Cons: long drive to work
-arrive at work -do prejob safety meeting -get your task ,assess your job and stage material -work within the parametors of the job in a safe efficient manor -worst part of the job is when you are working in the reactor as you have to get into a rubber suite with air hoses and hoods to work . -some times you have to wait for long periods to get in and work due to perimitry and space availability. -the company was well organized with knowledgeable personal in key positions -I would rate the company eight out of ten
