The Events and Marketing Coordinator will play a vital role in the successful execution and growth of special events.
The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with visioning and executing aspects of marketing initiatives in order to build public awareness and revenue generation.
Work with Executive Director to create and execute annual marketing communications plan
Create and coordinate communications, promotional and fundraising materials
Plan and execute corporate sponsorship programs and marketing of same
Maintain donor recognition by planning and implementing recognition and appreciation for sponsors and volunteers
Ensure event/sponsor database is current and accurate
Oversee management of special events throughout the year
Assist in efforts to enhance donor base for all events
Develop and nurture corporate and community partners for the purposes of event growth and to elevate the profile of the agency in the community.
Identify and solicit event sponsorships, prizing and new participants
Identify and recruit event committee members as needed and oversee management of event committees
Maintain accurate and complete event files and contact lists
In concert with the Executive Director provide post-event evaluation including final budget, recommendations, action items
Review opportunities for grants and prepare proposals for said opportunities
Identify new revenue sources
Attend meetings as required
Complete an annual performance appraisal including goals and objectives for the upcoming year
A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in fundraising, marketing and event coordination in a not for profit with a track record of success
Superior interpersonal skills and volunteer management ability
Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to accuracy
Demonstrated initiative and flexibility
Able to multi-task as well as problem solve
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Social Media
A positive team player who is action-orientated, and enthusiastic
Member in good standing of Association of Fundraising Professionals an asset
Able to work some evenings and weekends
Must have valid Ontario Driver’s license and their own vehicle
