We are a seeking a new member to join our Front Office Team at the Best Western Plus Uptown Hotel in a Full-Time permanent role.
The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service and organizational skills, be capable of working unsupervised and have the ability to take initiative in responding to guest needs when a supervisor is not available. Adequate knowledge of the Greater Vancouver Area and its attractions are a must, as is a flexible schedule and ability to work 2 overnight shifts each week and capable of lifting up to 40lbs
Checking guests both in and out of the hotel, directing guests to rooms and other hotel amenities. Respond to guest inquiries in an appropriate time and manner, assist guests with tour/restaurant reservations, directions and attraction information.
Must be able to assist guests with reservations over the phone and in person, as well as manually entering reservations from various travel agencies.
Computer / office equipment:
Must have some experience with Microsoft Office, previous experience with Visual Matrix or other Property Management Systems an asset, must know how to operate standard office equipment such as fax/copier, switchboard and Point of Sales machines.
Prepare daily reports, balance Property Management, Restaurant and Point of Sale machines, verify guest information has been correctly entered into Property Management System, perform floor checks and respond to any issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
Must be capable of effectively communicating with guests and fellow staff members both with in the Front Office and other departments such as Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Assisting guests with luggage, delivery of guest mail/laundry, assist with supply delivery and maintain office stationary / amenity levels.
