We are currently recruiting for the following role in our Edmonton office:

Intelligence Analyst/Marketing Assistant

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Market Intelligence/Marketing Assistant (Edmonton Support):

  • Monitor and provide a yearly summary of Alberta – Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary markets – including economic outlook, growth and new business opportunities.
  • Research opportunities and prepare competitive intelligence reports for existing clients and potential clients for Edmonton and Red Deer North.
  • Research and attend Chamber of Commerce activities as a representative of Bennett Jones relaying any relevant information to the firm within the appropriate practice. (Edmonton, Leduc/Nisku, Fort McMurray, Lloydminster and Grand Prairie Chambers).
  • Work with Business Development Directors and Competitive Intelligence teams to assist with new business pitches and proposal development.
  • Work with the National Relations Specialist to identify media opportunities to build profile for the Edmonton office lawyers.
  • Assist with marketing coordination of regional sponsorships to maximize involvement and profile for the Edmonton office.
  • Assist with InterAction database to ensure contacts and lists are up to date.
  • Work with current marketing coordinator and IA team to help prepare IA reports for events, invitations and RSVP lists.

Intelligence Analyst (National Support):

  • Research mergers and acquisitions transactions for Quarterly Reports.
  • Provide competitor deal information for quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports.
  • Perform research for background section of the company dashboards.
  • Identify trade shows, professional associations, publications/editorial calendars and speaking engagement related to specific practices or industries for marketing opportunities – to be update bi-annually.
  • Maintain Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment bank spreadsheets for the Alberta market (and other markets as needed on an annual basis).
  • Work with Competitive Intelligence Manager to maintain referral database.
  • Work with Entity Intelligence Database team and regularly update database.
  • Support CI function with research analysis including but not limited to:
  • Industry dossier research for practice planning.
  • Competitor marketing materials, such as recent publications.
  • Trade Association/Related publications/events research. Support CI function with research analysis including but not limited to:
