Good company very political.
HR GENERALIST (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – August 16, 2012
Pros: good company great benefits.
Cons: too political!
Very fast paste work environment. Work with all types of people at various levels of the company. Learned in this position there is a lot of gray areas. Management can't always be trusted. Everyone is trying to move to the next level. Enjoyed helping people but did not like or play the politics.

Up and down
Engineer (Current Employee), Arlington Texas – August 3, 2012
Pros: work at xworx - where all the action is
Cons: have to "wait" harder to advance, not "work" harder
Sometimes it’s great working on a great project, other times its down. The usual grips about working for a company - you figure the only time someone writes a review on here they are looking for a new job so that has to skew their opinion.

Had some great experiences but i am looking for a company that lets you advance based on your work ethic and contributions – more... to the company. Not the old school "time in service" mentality. If you try hard your yearend review calls you average, if you do absolutely nothing you are still average - its borderline communism. – less

I felt supporting our military was an honor.
Sheet Metal Hand Form Specialist (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – July 7, 2012
Pros: the opportunity to strive for excellence.
Cons: our efforts were no longer needed when the war ended.
Most enjoyable part of the job was supporting Desert Shield and Desert Storm as brief as it was.
My co-workers were awesome. Great group of people to work with.
We were given challenges to accomplish many jobs within a short time limit with quality, for the support of the troops. When the first Gulf War ended so did our jobs.

Procurement Specialist/Planner (Former Employee), Amarillo, TX – July 3, 2012
Pros: great team
Cons: heavy work load
Bell Helicopter has a great mix of Civilian-Military style. A person could work for Bell for years and still learn something new everyday!

Procurement Specialist (Current Employee), Amarillo, TX – June 28, 2012
The Bell procurement position has been a great learning experience for both the aerospace industry and the procurement career field. Every day I am presented with a new challenge in understanding the parts manufacturing and assembly of commercial and military aircraft. I work as a liason between engineering, quality, assembly, and my vendors.

A typical – more... day includes placing new PO's, working with vendors to align deliveries to an ever changing MRP schedule, and providing status to internal customers.

I work with a great team and am supported by management. – less

Cons: high cost when you go to the hospital and only 40 hours of sick paid a year
Great managment fun people to work with. Down side is its union and only 40 hours of sick pay. Only get vacations and sick time once a year. Insurance isnt that great.

Material Inventory Clerk (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – June 4, 2012
Pros: overtime hours
The typical day at work was very interesting and learning opportunity each and every day. I had the opportunity to learn different aspects of the industry. I really loved the job and the coworker I had a chance to work with. I work with a supervisor who would stand behind me in my work to ensure that I learned to the best of my ability. There was no – more... hard job, just a more focused day for me. The most enjoyable part of the job was working 2nd Shift. – less

I am part of a team that builds parts for helicopter repairs and upgrades
Machinist (Current Employee), Piney Flats, TN – May 24, 2012
Pros: boss isn't on your back constantly, good benefits, and they give us meals from time to time
Cons: no chance for mistakes, hard to get vacation time
We work 10 hour days where it is very fast paced. I may work on 1 to 10 jobs a day. My coworkers keep it interesting by joking and heckling everybody. The hardest part of my job is finding the specific order the supervisor needs at the time. Work in progress is very unorganized. The most enjoyable part of my job is the great group of people I work with.

No career path for IT people
IT Employee (Former Employee), Hurst TX – May 21, 2012
Pros: work life balance was better when i worked there
Cons: empty promises, no career path and too much politics
Manager promised me lot of things before I joined about position and career path and anything you name it, then comes "don't care" mentality. If you bring it to their attention about the promises they made, then management aviods including you for any of the meetings. May be a good place to work for contractors as some of them make money by bringing – more... few more contractors through their own corp.

But as a company it is a great company with lot of great products and lot of bright people. – less

The Work at Bell was Great, and for Great Aircraft
Machinist (Former Employee), Fort Worth, TX – March 13, 2012
Pros: excellent equipment, the work itself was great, great products
Cons: all benefits reduced to neal, textron destroyed bells integrity, no respect, no morals or ethics anymore
Bell was mostly a good place to work, Unfortunately the parent company Textron took over almost every facet, and have really caused irreverisible damage at all levels, this is very unfortunate, Bell has great products, had great management, and a highly skilled and competent work force. I truely wish them the best in returning to premier status someday.

Not a progressive company, poor business ethics
Engineer (Current Employee), Fort Worth, TX – March 5, 2012
Cons: not very open minded, stuck in the 50's mentality, no possibilities for advancement, no bonuses, poor or no raises, pay below average, not a professional (or clean) work environment, micromanagement, no training opportunities in technical areas, restrictive job boundaries
If I had to do it again I would not have worked here. Everything you need to get your job done takes forever, managers are not very trusting of their employees starting from the Vice President and below. They never deliver on promises, never give you the recognition but instead take it for themselves. Very poor business ethics, treat employees poorly.

Cons: When I first went to work at Bell Helicopter as a ACC Quality Engineer, I was shocked on how far behind the Quality Department was. If you offer up any suggestions that may be "off the beaten path" you were immediately shut down. The Quality Engineer position is not thought of as a technical position so if you have an Engineer degree, it will go to waste. You will receive no credit for your work...the quality chief will do that for you. In addition, all emails, phone calls and your location in the plant will be closely watched. I left within a year of working here because of how poorly this department was run. The pros: I worked with a lot of great people. Pay and benefits are ok.

FormerEmployeeToo – March 9, 2013

I totally agree with this individual. I have worked for Bell at the Piney Flats, Tn. facility. Management in Piney Flats treats their employees like they are the scum of the earth.
